Although I once again failed to win a painting competition with this one. Lost out to an abstract encaustic painting. -______-
But it's okay, every time someone like you likes it, it's worth more than any old prize.

Nah, it's alright. I'm quite used to it, what with my numerous Honorable Mentions! XD
And looking at the art professors who were on the jury panel, there was no way they would be into my kind of work.

But the same day, someone came up to me and told me that my art was the first art they've really connected to in his three years at college, and that really meant a lot more to me than any prize.
So as long as I have you guys, I'll keep working!
Well, I would keep working even if everyone hated my art, but a little appreciation does make things more enjoyable. Hahaha.

I'd be really happy about that statement, too. Art contests are full of a bunch of stuffy, closeminded folk anyways. Pshhh

Thanks - and I was trying to keep it ambiguous, without making it look like she was choking or in pain, as I don't like being really literal about my symbols.
