Sorry for the lame title.
This is just..something that came from nowhere. I began doodling a dynamic pose for my character..part of a challenge set by a friend who asked me to draw something less static the background and crazy camera angle just appeared as I was doodling..
I think he's attacking a crazed robotic arm, tho it looks more like a giant grabber machine..?!
anyway, 'twas fun

k. but wasnt the figure i was going to question. the background n figure r both pretty darn good, but they dont blend. He kinda stands out too much.
I'm guessing you worked on him on a seperate layer or else produced him entirely seperately and layered the figure over the background later? Either way, there are two styles there that dont quite fit.

yeh, the use of keylines makes sense. Maybe just add a few to tie the background in better

wow..well, I wasnt expecting that..but now u mention it, I kinda see what u mean. Im guessing it's the black cartoony outlines on the character that don't go with the textures and lighting effects on the background. Thanks for pointing it out with fresh eyes
Im trying to keep a comic like style for this stuff tho..maybe more black outlines are needed for my backgrounds Funny you should mention the layering, the background was an afterthought, but the robots were drawn pretty much the same time as the character was..and all of it was shaded/coloured at the same time.
