It's amazing how many worthless pictures one can make. But the thing that astonishes me the most is that you actually think somebody is going to buy this prints. I know, it doesn't do you any harm to upload them and no, I'm not harmed by looking at it. But common', let's face it, this kind of pictures have no meaning nor do they contribute to this site or to other peoples days. Let photographers do their thing, in the meanwhile you should search for another hobby, I'll bet you have something else that actually is worth viewing, concentrate on that instead.

You really went out of your way to be unkind. You speak only for your "superior" self. It is amazing that you have the affrontery to act as though your opinion has greater weight than those who favor this work. "Buy this prints..." "... this kind of pictures..." perhaps you should work on your grammar as well.
I'm sure you could use a little career and life guidance as well, telling people what they should concentrate on. You should concentrate on better manners instead of being presumptuous and pompous.

Well, I'm sorry for the grammar, my English isn't that great, but it's good enough for others to understand my point of view. If you like we can continue this conversation in my language, I'm curious if you would still point out my problems with the grammar of another language then. My mission is not to be unkind in any unnecessary way, I'm just here to let the author of this picture know that I don't like this kind of stuff. It is my right to do so and I'm not taking advantage of the whole internet-situation to be rude. I'm just saying what's on my mind. And I'm convinced that this person has talents, I just don't see it in his (her?) photography. This picture can not be seen as a full-fledged photograph nor can I see any possible way to use it in other work. It's just not artistic. And if you think otherwise, well then I'm sorry, but if that's the case than we are both on a completely different level. The fact that you freak out about me being so called presumptuous and pompous because I think this photo is a bad one, only makes you look like a blind man within the wonderful world of arts. This isn't art, this is a random snapshot. Defend the author all you want, it won't change the view I have, the way I say it or the lame-factor this picture has.
Btw, I do speak for myself, everybody does. I'm not feeling any more superior about myself for commenting on this picture than you do about yourself for commenting on my comment. If you put a picture online to get comments out of it, than you should face the fact that people can dislike it. And of all people I know, I'm the only one who has the right to give negative comments, because whenever I make a photograph (yes, I am a photographer, although I haven't got any work online yet) I don't show it off like I'm the next big thing, no, I ask people what they think is wrong with the picture, I learn out of my mistakes. Being able to accept your negatives makes you a better artist, being able to point out other peoples negatives makes you a good craft-brother.

I knew I would strike a nerve with my comments. You are so self-righteous that you couldn't resist responding to me. To justify your pontificating. My point is that you claim you are on a "mission." To do what? Rid this site, planet, universe, of the material of people who don't produce art or photos to your standard? That's POMPOSITY! In any language.
It doesn't matter how good you are at your craft. I have a doctor who is a world class surgeon but an asshole as a human being. So, good luck on your MISSION. You have no credibility or position to convince anyone to cease doing what they like. Especially when you voice your opinion in such a nasty way. This site is for ALL levels of ability, not only for professionals.
I am not discussing the merits or lack thereof concerning the photo. It is your ridiculous claim thatyou are trying to be a "good craft-brother." the photo.

Let's not go any further in this conversation. I've made my point clear and you are just making me look bad because I have a somewhat strong opinion. And please don't compare me with your doctor, I'm not an asshole, that's one thing I know for sure, because I do a lot of good, you don't even know.
This site is made for people to upload their work and get it reactions out of it. This was my reaction. You are not questioning my way of commenting, you are questioning freedom of speech, freedom of thoughts, what this site stands for and the way the art-world works. I got a lot of negatives before I got my first positive, but that didn't surprise me. Being good is something you become over time. That's why I don't upload my portfolio yet, because I'm not happy of myself, I want to be better and I want the people to see interesting pictures. And that's why i'm not self-righteous, I'm not doing it for me, I'm doing it for the viewer of my work. Don't think you know me, you don't. Accept the fact that if you play the creative game, there will always be people who dislike your work. And when you lose the game, don't be mad at others because you didn't accept the rules. But why are you complaining, for as far as I know this isn't even your work.
If you are not a photographer, then don't correct one. If I'm correct than you are a poet, that's a totally different kind of art. Photography is all about the visual aspect, it's different. Btw, you strike me as a fun, bright man. I can see why you protect others, but you only give them the feeling that they don't need to raise the bar. You can't do that, you will harm more than you will save.

You were commenting on the PERSON not the work. You made no critical comment regarding the photo, only what the person should do with his "hobby." That he should seek other ways to express himself. There is no game here. He has no need to raise the bar. He is just expressing himself. This is no disagreement about technique, it is about the supposition that your being a better photographer gives you the right to insult him and deprive him of his right to do express himself in whatever way he wants. It doesn't matter what my art is. I am not making a technical argument, only a human one. And you are so wrapped up in your "expertise," that you are blinded to the possibility that your approach to commenting went over the line and was directed at the artist and not his art. So, I will grant without seeing even one photo, that you are a fine photographer, but a very insensitive person who thinks of himself as an art cop.
