Here's hoping people actually read this. I know it's huge, hahaha, but I thought it would be better to compile the first part into one big hunk instead of in pages.This was a test, more or less. It was to see what I could do in like...two days. It was a comic warm up practice, more or less.
In any case, it's in the Without Void universe but before everything goes down. It's Carol and his roomie Carter on some sort of road trip and having adventures along the way because everything BAD HAPPENS on road trips. You and I know. Mmmhmmm. We're in the loop. *nods sagely*
Anyway, the coloring is lazy but was intended to be a quick way to color so it's all flats really but hopefully it's fun to look at anyways.
Carol is so sensitive.

This is made of WIN, seriously. I love the crisp and clean style. The flat colours just add to that. And I love the way you draw blood.

I am vaguely reminded of Vacancy. Vaguely, perhaps with a little mix of Psycho thrown in. But I think this was really good so far as the pacing. Wasn't really expecting that right off the bat! I think for me the eyes could have been a little more... socket-y so far as the creepy factor goes. Maybe you've got a reason behind that, probably just your style. In any case, good!

This is so good! I really like it. Once again, your characters are fantastic, and I love the dialogue. And I actually sorta jumped at the dead guy. So... that's good.

I like it. The horribleness of it all isn't all that horrible. For me as an outsider, that is. The thing has got to smell pretty badly.
Killing someone for his eyes is a pretty cheap waste of a good human.

I really, really love the design of these new characters. I was ill for quite a few months and off DA, and when I came back I very much enjoyed seeing all the things you've done. Your style is so vibrant, clean and expressive and reading comics like this is very rewarding because it's slick and fun. Your stuff does make me want to work at my drawing again.

that's a great way of getting a guys attention :laugh: but this is good so far, I love their relationship so far.

Great stuff! The pacing is excellent, and the character interaction works really well. I like the coloring a lot - it's clean and simple but still very nice to look at. There might be a little excessive use of gradients, but that's a very minor quibble.
Can't wait to see more!
