Happy New Year!What better way to start 2011 than with some excessive bromance? Awww yeah.
I intended this to be on New Year's Day but then it ended up being a bit of a MONSTER and took a lot longer. But hopefully my efforts are well worth it. This was done wholly with brush pens and copic markers (minus the text which is of course Webletterer from www.blambot.com just in case you were wondering). I found out I am REALLY slow with brush pen and copics, just for the record.
I hope you guys are having a great one, miss you much but hopefully this will make you forgive me for being a bit absent during the month of December! Hope to have a real strip up soon. You know I love you much.

Oh man, the artwork, layout, and paneling in this is BEAUTIFUL! You have come such a long way in terms of your ability to handle lines and use dramatic angles in your panels, and also in general terms of proficiency in your own style. I was just revisiting Joe and the boys in KTC last month, remembering how much I liked it and still do, and it is such a pleasure to see your art style evolve from those comics to this skilled and confident level. Here, your lines remind me strongly of Eisner's in Contract with God and his later stuff, which is the confidence -with your own style and with the medium- I'm talking about. Your work is looking very polished these days, especially here, where you're using no computer effects and your talent in the medium really shines through within the limits of your traditional tools. I'm excited to see where you're headed!
Basically, I'm a huge nerd for this, please consider doing more with brush pen and markers, you totally rock, etc. Woo!

Let me back up a bit.
Your artistic style has inspired me before (I've actually adopted a vaguely Hanna-esque drawing style for one of my story ideas) and what I love best is how you can incorporate the storytelling into the art so seamlessly. Then you go along and put this out. This has to be the single most beautiful thing I have seen you put out yet, and that's taking into consideration the page "Slightly Suspicious Behavior" which got me hooked on this comic to begin with. The expressions in general, especially Hanna's, are generally awe-inspiring, but the quasi-wistful/thoughtful expression Hanna sports in the first panel on the upper left and that was in small view.
I think I'll cut my digression off here and click vigorously at that inviting, off-green fave button.
