Description
So, I went out and bought some prisma markers, and they're wonderful things. I used to have them once, but they all went away and I thought I'd get them again. They're expensive little buggers, and it blows my mind that copics and trias are even MORE expensive than they are! Tricky little people. Making artists broke. *shakes fist*Anyhow. I did a couple of test doodle things to just ink up with my new Steadler pens (this is a plug hahahah i love those suckers), and marker them up. I have a limited colour palette though, cos I couldn't afford more.
The title is just the song that I really enjoy listening to right now. I know the pictures themselves are a little wonky but I was just having fun. Enjoy Voy and Wade.

Ahhhh, markers!! Markers are a blast to work with, but the thing is, they're crazy expensive, and you need to have a SHITLOAD of them to do anything worthwhile. Now that I have over a hundred, I have enough to work with, but all my old ones are dead! Ahh, markers, you crazy things. You can get some interesting effects and new shades by blending various colors and brands. At least with Copics you can buy ink refills that will fill the marker several times and only cost a little more than the marker itself. (Tho I haven't exactly figured out yet HOW to refill mine, heh...) I like Copics, but I'm still pretty loyal to my original babies, les Prismas. They have pretty good light/Caucasian skin tones but no straitforward grays.
These are so cute Markering works well for your coloring style.
Why are artists, who have no money, the ones whose equipment costs the most? Argh!

They want the term "starving artist" to not fade away with the new 21st century.

Yes but trias and copics are refillable
I too, remember the phase I went through of buying prismacolors with what little allowance I had at the time. 10 dollars a week? That got me THREE WHOLE MARKERS. And I used 'em with my prisma pencils cause dude, the colors match exactly! At one point I had around 60 or so, but they did not last long because I used them with a vengeance. They're somewhere in marker heaven now...
Years later now that I have a job, I've been eyeing the copic marker sets. Refillable inks. interchangeable nibs. Airbrushing attatchments. a WHITE marker.
Someday... they will ALL BE MINE BWAHAHAHAA

Well, those plugs would have more of an effect on me if at all I had money. ~sigh~
But I really like this piece. The um... (man, I suck at terminology o_o;;; ) ... the Fact that it's a dull coloring. ~shrug, quickly walking off from embarrassment~

I know. 'Tis a cruel world, ain't it? *eyes her friend's Trias with envy*
But. As usual, you do a smashing good job of using them. Even if they ARE just test doodle things.

Prisma markers are so difficult to work with.....>_< But the finished result, if done right, always looks good...like this pic, for instance!

Wow, nice job! I like how it looks so smooth in the shading, it's hard to do that with markers. Though it's true that in the black areas you can see the lines; you might want to stick with Sharpies or computer coloring for that.
Hehe, their skin makes them look like vampires. Sexy vampires, of course.
Prismacolors ARE expensive. I once had a basic color set. I used them too much and they dried up ;_;

High five, this is the first completely analogue thing i've ever seen from you, double well done. Nice usage of Prismacolor makers, (I can't not recognise the warm grey tones of sweet and lovely prismacolour markers. wait, this looks like 30% with a few layers) Awesome. I love you vert, marry me and have my babies, walk my dog and stroke my cats.

May I suggest a deeper black? Markers are too much water based to achieve good blacks. And I strongly suggest you buy some marker paper, you'll see, your markers will last longer and you can get pretty neat effects depending what side of the sheet you use.

I really wanted to find some marker paper, but they had none where I was at. But I've seen marker paper used, and it looks the best that way. The colours look so amazing!! Thank you, I really will look into the deeper blacks. n__n

Aw, you lucky rich bastard.... (looks down at own $.99 markers) Boo. And I've had these for a year now. But I do own THREE prismacolour markers, and they're godsent. A nice trick for smeary, blendy colours with markers if you don't have marker paper - use tracing paper. It's so goooood....
