Wonderful work, and I know it's meant to look surrealistic, but that skirt just doesn't work for me. It looks a bit too flat, and for me, it doesn't fit with the rest of the image well.
I actually do like the idea, but the post process could have been even better.
It goes to my favs nonetheless, and congratulations on your daily deviation .

Well I've been watching your gallery for a while now so let me get started. Great, you've started me on a tangent. First off, congratulations on the daily deviation. I sure hope that the daily deviation junkies that come by "OMG GRETA WORK DOGG" and favorite it take the time to inspect the rest of your gallery. I spent a while looking at the buildup/walkthrough trying to find out what the inspiration was, what the concept was, and was left nonethewiser. I started to analyze the piece and a few things stuck out at me -- the twisty plastic things were the first to jump out at me. On one arm, they seem to be a bit tighter than the other. Odd, but it didn't seem to significant. The gaping hole -- what made it? Was it put there on purpose? What's at the end, all I can see is a green spot. What's with the fishhook? Is it pulling at her or is she pulling at it? The odd, woodlike markings on her shoulder -- is it decomposition or something entirely different? Then something hit me, the hole looks like it was burned from the markings around it. Was her head blown off? How can there still be such and elegent dress/pose with her head off? Her head's off?! With all the other things going on, that was one of the last things to hit me. I eventually summed it up like this:
This picture/graphic represents the emotion without speaking, emotion in silence, emotion with emotion regardless of the things telling you what to feel. Feeling longing while you should be feeling pain. Emotion represented through what's interpreted. It represents the human ability to see what's happening without being told. To think about how someone's feeling without them telling you right out.

Wow.

This is exactly why I love you, these kinds of comments. The piece is intentionally left 'blank', up to your own interpretation. And I must say, it's amazing to see how others, like yourself, view this piece. Thanks ever so much for the comment.

Its not so smart to put zip ties on one's arm. i still have a scar from when my friend cut off one from my wrist. That was fun. Still, a neat concept.
