I didn't even know you could do that! And here I've been deleting all my under and overexposed photos
I'll have to experiment with this and see if I can follow the tut (I have almost no idea how to photoshop).

it even works on photoshop elements^^
go to layer/merge down or sth like that

ok but how can i make the different layers at different exposures? on your tutorial it shows all three layers with different darknesses, but when i do it, i only duplicate the layers so they are all the same colour?!
(sorry lol i dont mean to be annoying ) im just learning!!

aah,ok: either you have a SLR camera with automatic latitude function or you use levels on the different layers (but the results won't be as good as with auto function)

thanks for the info. i've beenmessin aroudn with ND filters, but can't seem to get what I want from the finished shot.
Can't wait to go out and take some shots tomorrow and give this a whirl.

i was a little confused on step 2 when you said that -2 would be the background. the name of the background layer on the picture is -2 but it's +2. then on step 3 it changes.
