One of the much more...unusual...heroines of animation history. But history she most certainly is. Tex Avery struck gold when he opted for a burlesque take on a folk classic, and created one of the most hilarious, sexiest, envelope-pushing cartoons that has survived the decades being a constant defiler of the innocent mind of young men.

This is a freebie that Jamie Fay did for me upon my request. While he's well-trained with the superhero figure, it's sobering to see he's got the knack for a long-legged redhead as well. Loooooove the lines, dude. And the color on this just fell into place real easy, so it's good to see the 'mesh' between us is still there.
...that sounds kind of weird.

This picture overall is pretty good; it's also very arousing! The red leotard, silky legs, and red shoes are the best parts of this image. The only problems I find are with the face. The eyes don't look very good, and the nose looks a bit too punched-in. While the leotard looks smooth in general, it seems a bits hort for a woman who looks sort of tall for her gender. And the hair looks like it's been styled for a women in her 40s or 50s. But it's a very appealing picture that hs a tasty impact; just work on these little flaws for the future.

1) The hair looks plastic like that of a barbie doll. No matter if it is slicked with gel or held together with spray - we should still be able to see the texture of the individual strands. You did draw those, but you made it look as though each hair is about as thick as a finger. I'd like to see more and thinner strands - a more realistic hair texture (to make it consistant with the more realistic shading of her body/clothing.)
2) perhaps not a flaw as such, but a question of your choice. The frills at the bottom of her corset (ie. around the hips) look a little too three-dimentional to me. What I'm referring to is the shape of the fabric. Sure, it can curl around and have a three-dimentional shape, but don't forget that the material will basically be flat. You've coloured it to look like thick, bulbous protrusions, when in my opinion the shading should have been done in a way that shows the thin, paper-like shape of frilled fabric. I don't know if you did this intentionall but if you didn't, then it's something to think about, and if you did, then I disagree with the choice.
3) You added shading to suggest her knuckles and other subtle contours, but not her fingernails??
4) And where is that pink light coming from? I don't mean the spotlight, I mean the pink areas behind her legs.

Well, it got you to write a spot-on critique of the image, so that's beyond good enough for me.
Thanks a bunch for the observations. I'll take a moment to revisit some of the issues you bring up, and try and iron those out.
