decided to scan this one in the midst of finals. Still got a bunch of other stuff that I need to upload!
This guy was for an assignment to design a creature/monster based on a phobia, so he's a manifestation of the fear of disease (could also work as fear of hospitals, I was a little unsure)
He has syringes on the end of his metallic skeletal fingers, and each one will give you a different disease. I wouldn’t get too close to him if I were you…
I don't know if I explored his design as much as I wanted to, and there was a little more that I hoped to include, but I ended up deciding that this picture looked pretty complete as it was and I didn't want to change it any further for fear of messing it up. I have a lot of extra sketches of him and plan to play around with his design a bit more. Gotta love antique medical equipment...

I used to have this fear all the time when I was younger!
I would wash my hands like 20 times a day, spray a lot of Lysol all over my house, stay away from animals, huddle in the corner of my room, and I get scared to death reading chapters about diseases from science textbooks in the class when I was in 7th grade--
I told my past teacher about my phobia and she didn't care about my feelings and she force me to look at the graphic pictures.. I WAS SUFFERING IN EXTREAME HORROR!!!
This phobia is real! It means "fear of diseases"!
I got this phobia after I watched a graphic program and watched a preview of the movie Osmosis Jones

I like how you incorporated the those masks doctors had during the Black Plague epidemic into this manifestation of fear of diseases. Nicely done!

What makes this work so brilliantly is how small the girl is in the bed. Phobias are so large.

I find this picture pretty disturbing actually so job well done lol. It really reminds me of the skeksis from the Dark Crystal...that film scared the holy hell out of me when I was little which is probably why I find this picture not nice. Awesome!"
