Magnificent! I love the picture. Did you sketch it into your notebook and then render it on the computer?

Hi Tsau-mia,
No i didn't make a previous scketch of it, it's pure digital illustration i did it while creating and testing new photoshop brushes.
I used a scan of my note book so it gives a little bit more traditional feeling to it.
Glad you like it !! (^-^)

That's pretty cool. I just learned how to do some photoshop brushes lately, but I haven't been able to test-create any yet to see if I like them.

you should try it definetly.
U know sometimes good things comes from chaos, while searching good setting for ur brushes u can draw just ramdomly and see so great shapes or silhouettes to play with!!
like this one too [link]
i was searching and creating shapes when this warrior shape came, then i draw and add a picture quickly to render the land behind it etc...

That one was really nice! I'll definetely have to try it out now. Does it take up a lot of space on your computer? That seems to be the problem I'm running into... lack of space.

Depends the size of the image well an A4 size document at 300 dpi, i think it's about 50Mb in document size but anyway even wallpaper like 1600x1200pixels is good too, the principal is to have the idea.

Yeah, I know when I work on something in photoshop, it has 400 layers (I'm exagerrating, but just a little ) so it takes up a lot of space. My poor Mac only has 40 gigs of hard drive space, and I am attempting to draw a cute little parade of some of my OC's so I can put them on a 2'x6' banner. I can't even fill the whole space with white before it freaks out and tells me there is no space on the disk.

well if you have a lot of layers u'll need a lot of ram, and because the file gets bigger u'll need a lot of space LOL what a vicious circle...
I used to have so much layers myself but it get me mad because you don't named them right so you much search for the good one...and losing time...
SO i thinkthe less you have the better u get, i try to have not much than maybe 20 layers.
now i always got like : colors, shaders, lights, fx, outlines(on a single one layer), etc... for some parts of a character or a scene.
but i think you should buy an external harddrive too.
who knows if your cpu crash one day u'll have a save of all your work.

I have an external, and I use it constantly. It's always when I merge layers together that I needed to do something seperate, such as yesterday, I did a little girl in a dress and sunhat, and her sunhat was on the same layer as her hair and face. Unfortunately, I wanted to change the color of the sunhat, without changing the color of anything else. I do try to keep only finished flattened images on my computer though. The originals go on the hard drive.

For such case like the hat you must make a selection and apply that mask to a coloration layer or fx filter,i think it's called fusion mask? I'm french so i have a different language version.
If i must merge layers i will merge quite opposite things: like hair and dress or sunhat and legs or both hands and hat u see? things that arent connected on the artwork.

The notebook spine looks great with the white cut-off. The industrial texture really helps make this piece amazing. The details in the buildings are fenomenal, and I love the smoke in the background.

This is really good i love the background and the gritty industrial feel it has about it.
The sun looks good from behind the figure with the edges of the robot lit up in places and the sky also has a nice feel to it ,the colours blend in really well together.
The robot also reminds me of some of the metal gear artwork from one of the games years ago.
Good job
