Fire and ice.
2 polar opposites.
That's what we are.
The reason we would destroy each other
if we were ever together.
But still, I want her.

She is the most passionate flame I have ever seen,
burning brighter and hotter than a million suns.
She is the fire.
My heart has been broken so many times,
it has become cold, made of stone.
I am the ice.

I wonder if she could bring me back to life again,
melt the frozen, emotionless exterior that has surrounded me for so long.
It's something I've wondered since the day I met her,
and I still have no answer to this day
because she will never be with me.
But still, I want her.

I am too set in my ways to ever change.
I've grown used to the pain, and for that reason,
I remain alone.
No one to help me through the thick & thin,
no one to be there for me when I'm down,
and no one to hold in each other's gentle embrace.

For that reason, and that reason alone,
we remain polar opposites.
We remain fire & ice.
