Two colors in all the designs to represent the contrast of humans, with war (red) - peace (white) and flesh (liquid, red) - bone (solid, white). This one is fairly straightforward, with our human skull being something that sets us apart from all the other animals (and beings in the universe perhaps?), with us having the color white inside of us as bone irrespective of skin color.
