A mercenary who was raised by his father, Jeralt, Byleth is known far and wide as the Ashen Demon. Byleth is approached to teach at the Officer's Academy of Garreg Mach Monastery, choosing one of Three Houses, each with a leader and eager young students. As part of their training, Byleth will teach his students different weapon skills and abilities, and even take them into combat. How his students grow and develop is up to him, to prepare for an oncoming war. As the bearer of the Crest of Flames, Byleth can wield the Sword of the Creator, and he even has visions of a girl named Sothis, who has no memories of her past.

Censored version: When something's eff'd up, it can be considered extremely uncomfortable or offensive. Effing something up is making a mistake, to put it nicely.
You consider Three Houses' story execution a tad extreme to your taste, and that's fine. Honestly, I say it's par for the course with this series. Radiant Dawn is much darker and meaner, if you ask me.
