The nine different species of Pikmin that are indigenous to the planet that Olimar finds himself upon. While they are weak and easy prey to wild beasts, when they work together, they are a force to be reckoned with. Red Pikmin are resistant to fire. Yellow Pikmin are resistant to electricity. Blue Pikmin can survive in water. Purple Pikmin are as strong as ten Pikmin. White Pikmin are poisonous. Winged Pikmin can fly. Rock Pikmin can break glass-like obstacles when thrown. Ice Pikmin can freeze water and monsters. Glow Pikmin, which only appear at night, light the way and must defend their mounds of Glow Sap. Olimar and Alph will need all their help if they are to gather the things they'll need to leave the planet.

Pikmin appear in the Super Smash Bros. series as the crux of Olimar and Alph's moveset. Rock Pikmin, unfortunately, are absent in this regard, and Ice and Glow Pikmin weren't conceived yet.
