Description
As a long timer reader of Gunnerkrigg Court comic, I wanted to present a fanart piece that the author, Tom Siddell, can personally enjoy and to demonstrate how inspiring and, ya know, unique story he shared with millions. I ain't counting and I don't think they are either.--Yay on the DD!Β

Ive been finding copies with my signature removed on various wallpaper websites, and this upsets me that there's folks out there that don't want to give artist their credit.

Is that a timber wolf? Sorry couldn't help myself. Beautiful piece, love the color palette and lighting.

Maybe. Not sure what species of wolf Ysengrin is, but he definitely uses trees to his power, so probably is.Β

Awesome! I'm starting to see more GC fan art and I'm loving it! It is an amazing comic with amazing characters. Poor Ysengrim. I feel so annoyed at Coyote! And Annie looks adorable here.

I hope coyote has good reason to do such deeds towards them, or he just might be a god full of malice? /shrug Annie is like, yo dawg.Β

Oh I doubt Coyote has any 'good' reason to do anything! If he has an endgame he's certainly not telling. Plus he seems to enjoy causing a bit of chaos. He is called the 'trickster god' for a good reason. Β Chaotic personalities don't need further ends than the chaos itself. Like the Joker on Batman.

There's no mistaking Ysengrin even in the little DD previews at the bottom of the page. Truly amazing work!

Absolutely stunning! I love the detail of this piece. You can feel the weight and size of that beast but also a gentleness from him. Love it!

You know the sound the LotR trents made when they moved? Im scared of that sound when its amplified by Ysen's growling, if it ever occured outside of the comic stripes. eee. Or if he could sneak up on folks. Just boom, giant wolf here.Β

Very true, if this creature came into reality it would definitely be terrifying. Some things should stay in our imaginations

Oh my god! This is beautiful! I've been a reader of Gunnerkrigg Court for a long time, too. And I have to say, you captured every gorgeous detail, and pulled it all together. I think Tom Siddell would be so proud.
I love this. No way this is getting out of my favorites.

I hate it when there's something I wish I could add to something, and it never makes it in. It's one of the worst feelings I've ever felt as a writer.
That would suck! Then I'd never find it again. DUN DA!
I wish you all the luck with that!

VisitΒ bridging-the-annan.deviantart.β¦ for a bunch of gunnerkrigg fanarts. I found them by going to the site's forums once, and just so many people know how to draw people and I just go awwww the whole way through.

Ha, I think I would rather see it animated over being CGI. The actor for carver would look far too fake. D:

I just love your rendition of Ysengrin! He looks so sad (much better than the friendly/smiling version of the draft )

The eyes were tough but I figured out that using references of old men over old dogs were better. Still doesn't have that gritty tough guy look.Β
But ty ty again for pointing out the smile on the rough. I hadn't realized it before and makes a difference!
