Description
Just one of my speed portrait practices. Was worrying more about value and using free flowing strokes to imply detail rather than going about it my usual perfectionist way.Ah btw, I'd love to get some critique on this so hit me! Please
Going to scraps later.
Edit - thank you awesome people for the useful advice! I've read it all and done some big changes, if you see something else, keep hammering my head with it until I change it hehe
Photoshop, 2-3 hours.

Thank you very much for the useful advice, and for taking time to write this also. I really appreciate it. I'll definitely make sure to be much more mindful of getting correct anatomy from the very beginning before getting carried away with coloring from now on.
"Implying" details will probably always be a challenge for me, my perfectionist way of painting is putting bumps in the road for me even when I concieously try to stay loose. Hopefully more practice will pay off.
I've done mayor changes to neck and lighting, check it out if you want and tell me what you think?
Again, thank you!

Hi there!
Not a problem at all, it was my pleasure! You have the same problem many very very talented people have. For example - Brad Rigney, if you've ever heard of him, - always used to complain of not letting go of those fun little details and all that fun polishing of the image
I think the neck looks great, you have really defined the bone structure and the shoulders are not just hanging there for no reason. You are fabulous and have tons of talent! One little note on the neck now, however, maybe check the lighting - is it lighting up too much of the neck too brightly? But this is just pedantry!
I wish you all the best,
Ana xx

P.S. by that last bit I only mean the few millimeters represented by that brush stroke going along the neck between the light area and the shadow xx

I absolutly love this painting *A*. I like the more rough colouring style and the colours in general are really gorgeous. (amg red hear I wants QAQ). Her expression is also beautifull

Magnificent. This is by far your best. The lack of clarity works well and your shading is almost perfect. You tend to make your human too bright, making it seem separate from the background. this girl however, is right there.

Yes. The style is a bit sloppy but this practice is so much more real than your others. Do well.

actually I have nothing to say, to this one: since it's a speed painting practice, this picture totally works! I think in the "imperfection mood" you perfectly hit the point, even if something could be fixed here and there, but this would be a step for a more defined painting. Awesome job as usual!

She looks scared and her face and hair suggest movement to me
The background really makes her stand out, quite dramatic
Well done for a speed painting

Wonderful practice piece! I really love the lightning on her skin. I see you already got some very useful feedback, I don't have anything to add to that. I think it's great you're practicing this way, keep it up it will really pay off It's very hard not to go at something in your usual way of painting so really, props to you

I sure will! And yeah it's pretty fantastic that so many people actually took some time to look at it and give some advice. The dA community is frekkin awesome! I'm afraid I failed at my "implying" attemp haha. But I got something else coming up I'll upload soon that's hopefully all about hinting. Hope you can give some advice there too

Of course! Always looking forward to more art from you! I find it weird and frustrating that painting in a 'loose' style is so much harder to do then polished :/ Let's both practice more!

I can't tell what it is... but I absolutely LOVE this painting!
Maybe the fact that her stare is so intense, or the wonderful color scheme.
Anyways, good job!

The thing to point out here is that the yes and motuh seem to have baselines slightly different in direction. Seen in front viw, the girl would have a slanted mouth. The rest looks OK.

great work! I love the lighting, I would say however that the right side (our left) of her face looks a little odd to me, like maybe it should be turning more... But I love it.
