Description
I work in a stained glass shop and I took a 20"7/16 x 20"7/16 x 1/4" sheet of bronze tint glass and used a method called sand blast carving or "etching". Basically I shot an air gun that propels fine grains of sand at it and embeded an image of the Disturbed symbol from their second album, "Believe", onto the surface of the glass and creating lines that penetrate about 1/8" into the glass. There is also a method of sand blasting called gradiant which shows layers of light and dark on the glass, but it doesn't leave an indentation. This took about 1 hour to prepare by taking an inlarged image and adhering it to a layer of masking tape put on the surface of the glass. Then I took an exacto knife and cut out the image and peeled away the tape where I wanted it to be sand blasted. The carving portion took another 2 hours and finally about 1/2 hour to clean. It is now the top to a night stand in my room.Related content

I just started to play with sand blasting and I am really liking the results. I have been doing engraved glass, metal, and other forms of art to create lighted jewelry.
I am using a micro-blaster that someone is loaning me until I find my own tools.
I find that the process is quite messy; the grit ends up everywhere! Fortunately, I had to do it outdoors.

The pentacle is not a symbol of satanism; it is a symbol of the Old Religion.

A circle with a cross carved into it , the Star of David, a pentagram, and the Muslim crescent

You work in a stained glass studio! Awesome!
(Sorry if you mentioned this elsewhere here and I missed it,
having zeroed in on your drawings.)
I've played around with phoney versions
(plexiglass and special paints) to make for myself
a rather large peacock faux stained glass window.
So my respect for those in this field is sky high,
from what little I've experienced,
and from what I've witnessed in real studios.
So make that...double awesome!
