The only reason I'm not one for shipping mare/mare or stallion/stallion is because it's just something I can't really picture properly in the mlp universe. I DO, however, ship Derpy and Doctor. All my d'awws.

I'm not trying to insult you, just rewording your logic so I can ask you properly question why the concept of a same-sex relationship in the MLP universe is any different than one in our universe. Their personalities and social interactions are designed after those of humans, so it would seem logical, to me, that same-sex relationships would be no less plausible there than they are here.

Well, it's not really that I can't picture it because it's unrealistic, but it's something I feel like would never happen in the show simply because Hasbro wouldn't risk the drama, you know? I just like things that feel more likely to happen in the show, but that's just me.

Eeeeeh, I guess, but once my friend said to me he didn't think sex existed in the MLP universe because they'd never show it, but that seems illogical because they're mammals, have biological male and female parents, and they even show aΒ maternity ward. Yes, they'll probably never show reproduction in the show, but that doesn't mean it isn't likely to exist in the universe.

I have nothing against homosexuality irl, I would just be surprised to see two mares falking in love out of choice in the show. For me, the show as well as anything Hasbro publishes (so basically anything canon) is what I acceot most of the time. I din't have anything against f/f or m/m shipping at all, it's just unlikely to occur in the show so it kinda bugs me is all.

Back when I was a kid, girls could be tom boys and still be straight. Glad I grew up when I did, otherwise people would have assumed I was a lesbian. It's really a shame that everything is about sexual orientation these days.

Same with I say, 75% of my cousins when I was growing up. They were tomboys and they are married/have kids. I'm glad I grew up in my era too. Don't worry, I assure you it will only get worse. That's a non-variable.

While I'm glad that most Bronies appear to be supportive of the LGBT community, I think it's wrong to assume the RD is a lesbian, simply because she has a rainbow mane (and the 'butch' attitude probably has something to do with it too). To be 100% honest, I don't really see any of the Mane 6 as being gay.
Vinyl and Octavia, I don't mind. It's just that there's no proof. I see them more as the odd couple. They're really good friends (and who knows they might have had a little thing for some time, but they're just friends). That being said, I love 'University Days.'
The only pair that is 100% without a doubt hand to Celestia gay, is Lyra and Bon-Bon.
However, RD asking Vinyl if she's not hot enough, does seen exactly like the kind of thing she would say, even though she isn't gay.
So it's a clever picture all in all.

lyra and bon-bon being gay isn't canon at all! the animators said the put them together a lot in the backgrounds because they like their color scheme together. I'm pretty sure they said nothing at all about their sexual orientation!Β

Well of course they won't say anything out loud, because God knows some freakazoid right wing nutjob will flip their shit and get MLP yanked off The Hub, but I think the animation team secretly supports the idea of Lyra and Bon-Bon being in some sort of relationship. In 'Call of the Cutie' for example, when Applebloom tries to sell Bon-Bon some apples ("I didn't put those in my bag"), some fans noticed that their was a tiny lyre on said 'bag.' Hmm hmm hmm. And if I'm not mistaken, Lyra appeared at some point later, with some type of accessory that had Bon-Bon's cutie mark on it.
Now taking what I said about extremists flipping out, having them carry each others symbol around, could be an underhooved way of representing wedding rings. Now the people who do care about the show enough to notice such a small detail, are probably not the kind who would give a hoot. They're in full support of Lybonra. The people who don't give a hot wet steamy horse dump about MLP, aren't going to bother looking. Everyone comments on RD's supposed gayness, but no one notices Lyra and Bon-Bon's highly more likely romantic relationship.
Know why?
Because the crew does a much better job of hiding it. So you don't have to believe in Lybonra if you don't want to, but that is my opinion based on what I've seen (and you're right that the colors do look good together... so do Cadence and Shining).
