Description
I had meant to post this a week ago but due to the fact I had constantly lost and gained interest in writing the backstories for everyone (not to mention they have quite the number of plot holes and stuff like that), it was just pushed so far hahaEDIT: Sorry for the update, I realised some mistakes and being the OCD I am I had to go back and redo em
--
Some more characters for my concepts. This time, it's a gang of (anthropomorphic) underwater creatures! They are not the antagonists, but they certainly haven't been joined the "House of Misfits" yet.
They have been around almost as long as the House of Misfits itself, and had appeared way before they started rescuing others. These bunch had came from the same dimension, but didn't know each other and also been spawned into separate areas when they were shoved into the "Other Side." The reasoning for this is that they all had some attribute to them that made them ultimately useless amongst their respective groups.
They eventually found each other over time, and realising that each dimension on the "Other Side" was connected by a portal, formed a gang that would do a sort of "Other Side" dimension hop and thieve from whatever they could find in said dimensions. This could range from small things such as small bags of money to largely protected safes.
Newcomers would somewhat be informed of their presence, as they would often embed their signatures somewhere to signify that they had already gone to the dimension and looted something (which is their gang name, "The Sea Sleuthers". As such, newcomers that stumble across these signatures would feel slightly unnerved and more alert of their surroundings in case they come back for more.
Alright, enough of the generals, let's get down to the characters themselves.
BIOS FOR THE CHARACTERS
Just warning this is long, but if you're one of the few people who will even stumble across this, feel free to read it I guess... I'm not gonna force you at all.
Species - Shark
Gender - Male
Name - Latin for Jaws
Although not the leader of The Sea Seuthers anymore, Ora is the second in command and has lived in the "Other Side" for the longest. Ora does not have a shark-like build, and wasn't a good swimmer either. He would often be shunned by his father, abused by his siblings and bullied by his schoolmates. It had gotten so awful to the point that one day, his father could not take it anymore and cut off his tail, which made him crippled and unable to swim for long distances. Due to all of these horrible events, he decided it was best to run away. Eventually, he was sent to the "Other Dimension," where he was left to wander aimlessly around the alternate dimension until he met some of the other characters.
Despite the fact that he cannot swim (which is ultimately not needed for most of the looting) very well, he does in fact have teeth that could crush through steel. Due to this, he tends to use this to loosen strong holds and walls, allowing the others to either toss it away or allow the hold or wall to fall. Either method allows the gang to continue.
Ora often tried to subdue his past by hiding it with a very happy, outgoing and comedic nature. He has a very big sense of humour and often enjoys teasing and playing around his other members. The gang members often remark about his outgoing and charming exterior. However, he is extremely sensitive, and anything regarding his past sends him into a tear-filled anger tantrum.
Species - Crocodile
Gender - Male
Name - Tackle and Taracko, Samoan for crocodile
Taracklo was the second member of "The Sea Sleuthers". Taracklo was born in a very rough town, and as such had to often adapt to the harsh neighbourhoods of fights and violence. His father was a very well known fighter and often had victory bruises and scars to indicate his power, and his mother also had a straight record of wings. Being the only child in the family, he was often pampered with gifts that were associated with fights and his parents often dreamed about him becoming an extremely good fighter.
Taracklo, although enjoying the life of fighting and brawling very much, did not want to become a fighter. With a heart of gold, it was not uncommon for him to wimp out of fights when seeing people in utter pain. This would often infuriate and disappoint his family greatly, and they would often violently beat him. His classmates would often tease him for it as well, although not too much as they are aware of his fighting abilities.
He would often feel terrible that he wore such a big heart, and this impacted his competitive fighting life; he would always get around to the finals, but would always back out when he had a sudden split moment realising how much in pain the other person was in. This would bring massive shame to his parents, who in turn, would just become more and more disappointed, angered, and heartbroken that they bore a son with the outside of a brute and the inside of a coward. The feeling of disowning their son was strong, as they had bore so much attention to him, only to have that attention rebound and hit them like a brick to the face.
One day, his parents had enough of his presence and ditched him in the "Rotting Pit," a place where the worst fighters were kept in to rot. This shattered any self esteem that remained in him, and he felt utterly lost and hopeless. He then eventually found himself in the "Other Dimension", and wandered around until he met Ora. Ora also had a story he could somewhat relate to, and the two of them eventually banded together to form the original "Sea Sleuthers".
Taracklo, as mentioned before, has a heart of utter gold and would go out of his way to see his friends happy and optimistic. He had also become extremely optimistic, and has now always been able to see the good in the worst of things, often cheering up his mates. He can often be seen apologising to most people who he had beaten down, and on extremely rare occasions does he show little remorse in what he's doing. In combat, from training in the roughian town, knows a good punch or two, rivalling him with a later member Seagkal. His incredible strength and abilities could knock out any person, no matter how powerful.
Species - Octopus
Gender - Male
Name - Spanish for 8
Ocho was the third member of "The Sea Sleuthers". His parents and siblings had all been extremely prepared for his arrival, and had given him the name "Ocho" and everything, even going as far as to immediately register his name as Ocho when he was born. Usually in this town, having eight tentacles is the most desirable, and not many octopuses actually have this trait, despite what the media generally depicts them as having. They were just that adamant on that he would come out with eight tentacles.
However, they discovered that he was one tentacle off. Despite this, they still took plenty good care of him and he lived a relatively good life, often being the lady's man and generally well liked wherever he went.
However, during the history of that particular area, a disastrous event called the "Algal Bloom" occurs every few hundred years, and unfortunately the event begins during Ocho's lifetime. This event is where algae bloom somewhere on the outskirts of town and eventually spreads towards nearby towns at a rapid pace, infecting residents with a powerful toxins that could cause severe to fatal results. During this time, Ocho was spending time with his friends elsewhere and was completely unaware of what was happening until he returned. His mother and three of his siblings had perished, whilst his father and four other siblings were disabled from the result.
Infuriated, upset and feeling useless that he did not spend the last moments with the family that took him up in arms and had put so much faith in him, he searched long and wide for the source of the Algal Bloom, to take it down once and for all. All attempts had failed, leading him to feeling more distraught and pathetic. These emotions of utter rejection of himself caused him to end up in the Other Dimension, where he wandered until the point where he met Ora and Taracklo. Ora's ability to give a hearty laugh and Taracklo's cheery and optimistic attitudes brought new light, and he finally felt like he could connect with a bunch of friends who could make him feel better about himself.
Ocho, now generally much more improved, is a witty and charming guy that still has that lady's man attribute. However, he's not interested in women or men, and generally prefers to stand his ground alone. He has a relative good sense of humour and is extremely loyal to his group. Generally introverted and very expressive and loving once known, many women are often attracted to him, but are also aware of his disinterest in a romantic relationship. Many men even envy how much female attention Ocho sometimes gets. In combat and helping out the gang, he is a sharpshooter that can take down enemies from long distances with great accuracy. His ink shots can also be used to disable lazers and block the vision of people, whether it'd be physically or via an object (like a car windshield or security camera).
Species - Axolotl
Gender - Male
Name - Strawberry and Sucre, French for sweet
Strucre was born in a very French like town that was in the midst of being taken over by a strange, terrifying beast that would often switch forms. During this time, there would be many different horrid events; parents would strangely and coincidentally die right after birth at times, children had a higher chances of having mental or physical illnesses and townsfolk would strangely go missing. As such, Strucre was born right after his parents had passed, and he grew up with his grandparents, suffering from unknown illnesses in the process.
Fear could not stop covering the body of the town, and it was utter chaos. At last, having enough of the place, his grandparents planned an escape Strucre in order to escape the hell beast. However, halfway through actually escaping the beast caught up with them in a particular form. His grandparents sacrifices themselves for him, and in turn the beast injected venom into them, killing them instantly. As a slight punishment for having run away from town, the beast sent him to an alternate universe, the "Other Dimension".
Instead of wandering and coming across the others, the others came across him; scared, upset and destroyed. They "adopted" him and took great care of him, eventually allowing him to open up and feel like the people he was around were his brothers and parents rather than just friends.
Strucre is currently the youngest out of all the members, only at the ripe age of 16. Being born in a town like France, he knows his ways to romance people and is often a huge romantic. However, due to the fact that most of the women's attention are turned to a very disinterested Octo, Strucre often envies him and always attempts to be better than him at winning over women, which Octo often feels confused about. Strucre, although not desperately, wants a lady for his own whom he can be as close to as the people who "adopted" and cared for him; who is aware of his insecurities and will appreciate him like he would to them. In terms of helping the gang, Strucre is incredibly intelligent and can often weave in foolproof plans that 99% always work out. He even sometimes purposefully romances people in order to distract them. However, he's not good at combat, and often cannot give in a singly punch.
Species - Giant isopod
Gender - Male
Name - Finnish for midnight
Keskiyo was born with a rare genetic condition; the ability to change his exoskeleton's colour at will. At a young age, particularly too young for him to remember, his parents were assassinated for drug convictions by a drug dealing mafia. Instead of killing Keskiyo then and there, they saw a major use in his condition and decided to kidnap and raise him.
Keskiyo was trained to professionally hunt down and kill people, break into highly secured buildings and other stealth related crimes. He was a feared amongst his city, having been able to avoid the police all but one time. During that one time, he was exposed to the police, and as a result the police was hot on the gang's trails, preparing to execute the gang and take the money that they have stolen. Understandably extremely aggrivated that their specially raised member had messed up big time, the other members secretly met up in a room and planned to drug, torture and then kill their member. However, Keskiyo had overheard all of this and, in fear of his life, ran away.
He eventually scurried into the large fields of his area, living and scavenging there whilst the gang attempted to hunt him down. Eventually, he stumbled across a strange portal. His curiosity and hope that it may lead him off of the murderous chase lead him into the "Other Side". Eventually happening upon "The Sea Sleuthers," he fit right in with them and promised to help a much more light-headed gang who accepted people the way they were instead of accepting them for their advantageous abilities.
Keskiyo is the oldest in the group, and is an adamant, hard working partner in crime that will always attempt to get his job done no matter how hard it is. During this time, he is quiet, strict and fierce towards anyone who attempts to distract him from his task. However, when not assigned to anything, he is loud, outgoing and generally a great guy to be around. He can adapt to situations easily and, like Taracklo, he can see the best in the worst, and is a supportitive friend. He often acts like the therapist of the group whenever they go through some form of tough time, and most of the time the weights on their back will be lighter due to this.
Species - Mantis Shrimp
Gender - Male
Name - Pun and shorter version of Saegkkal, Korean for colour
Not much is known about Seagkal's backstory, as he always backs off whenever a question along the lines of said context is mentioned. However, through what the members have seen, Seagkal apparently ran away from his family during an abusive outburst that ran throughout his city. This city was later found to be in absolute ruins, the residents almost wiped out, with very few managing to escape.
Seagkal's personality can be described as odd. He could either be happy as a lark or as angry as a ticked off bull. He can also be incredibly reclusive and hostile, often refusing help from the others and can be exceedingly stubborn. However, he is lowkey kind and internally feels happy to see that the members really do care about him, and can be shown to care immensely for them back. He, like the rest of his people, can see extra colours , though he is still unsure what these extra colours mean. In combat, he only weapon is his boxer gloved hands. He can fire several punches in a row in a matter of seconds, knocking out enemies cold.
Species - Seagull
Gender - Female
Name - Dorothy + Dorobo, Japanese for Thief
Previously in her old world, Dorobothy had been known as an infamous food thief, often swiping expensive and delicious cuisines from several restaraunts. This way, she'd be able to provide food for her starving 3 sisters and father. Her father had suffered an injury within a war previously between two different bird territories, and suffered a permanent injury to the leg, and as such could not successfully thief or do that much in general. Dorobothy herself had been suffering from some mental illness, and as such would be much greatly feared by her peers whenever agitated. She would always do this job on her own to avoid getting anyone else she cared about majorly into hot water, although her sisters would occasionally join in under their own will and steal a snack or two. Not only that, but Dorobothy had also been known to steal items from small amounts of money to large furniture in order to sustain her family's needs and wants.
One day, she had been caught, and as the people of the area had previously been well aware of a portal that can enter another dimension, they banished her into the dimension, as well as her family. However, during the time she and her family had been separated to different parts of the "Other Side". She had stumbled upon the gang and quickly became familiar with them. She longed to help aid them in stealing things, but her heart belonged to the desire of one day finding and reuniting with her family.
Dorobothy is a fierce and strong seagull, delusional that she is the very best of all the members and will often boast about her brave deeds in the past. She won't let anything get in her way of her goals, and has a fiery determination that knows no bounds. She can also be extremely insensitive and aggressive, symptoms from her mental illness that tell anyone and everyone to back off before she gets out of control. When she does snap, she goes out of control and is almost impossible to surpress. Despite of this, she wears a big heart and cares for the others like as if they were her family.
Dorobothy was also, rather unfairly, topped to the leader of "The Sea Sleuthers". The other members often scoff at this choice, although never say it to her face in absolute fear of getting absolutely obliterated by her wrath. In terms of abilities, Dorobothy is quite the strategic and lonesome planner, and as such doesn't often share her ideas. The others will often turn to Strucre's ideas instead during this time. She can also pack quite the punch whenever situations get into a pinch, with her beak proving to be quite the dangerous weapon.
AAAAAAA IT HAS BEEN DONE THE BIOS ARE QUITE BAD BECAUSE OF THE PLOT HOLES but it took me an on and off week to complete this so it's all ok

Yeah, for made me think of the Void from Gumball over reading that. But instead of boring and useless junk being erased, its pretty much nobodies and those that can't contribute to society.
Damn, that makes me now think of NiTWs with what I now said on not being a contribution to society.

Well, yeah pretty much! Glad ya get the jist of it haha. However, at some point some of them did contribute greatly but wound up ruining their own lives or have an event ruining their lives and making them pretty much useless. An example of this would've been my original plot for Keskiyo, which was then scrapped because there were just too many plot holes that made his backstory less fluid.
Oh damn. I've never played that game haha. What a coincidink!

NiTWs is a innocent game that has real life issues in a town that is falling apart with the town council caring more about small matters than residential matters and also how people are reported gone missing, like one cat kid who was said to hop the train but...never did, for like there is a secret cult going on in the mines that sacrifices people that are either homeless folks or folks that don't contribute anything to the town. The cultists sacrifice them to a demon goat inside the pit to make the town prosper...which is a huge effing thing that won't work over the goat may not exist over how I read up that they might be delusional on the freaking thing. But like there is still the main character's dream state and meeting a uncaring god that isn't the real god over the, ahem, elderly janitor bird may just be God in disguise.
The game has curse words, but fuck is changed to eff.
Also there is a gator who is just in one scene and is a real dickhead creep that got a epic ego bash by the main star.

That is literally such a good concept. I love the dark and somewhat spiritual themes of this game, and I would definitely check out the game sometime too. I am a huge sucker for cults and the unknown, and the thought that people will go far into their beliefs and gods intrigues me.
Interesting! That would definitely not affect me, but I can respect their changes for "fuck".
Ooh damn.

One of the heroic characters is a goth gator, which is silly over we both know a goth gator in DJCroc's persona.
Though said gothic girl, from NiTWs I mean, was once a happy child but with her mom dying to cancer, not being able to go to college like her best friend, and having to look after her father's business over he can't anymore over his wife's passing and also a alleged rumor on her being raped, made her into the cynical gothic smoker that she was.
But yeah, that dickweed, Steve Scriggins, got a epic word beatdown from Mae with having her say to him to eat her ass and go legally braindead from choking on her entire ass. It leaves him stumped, though he still gets his wind in to not help you, Mae, and her friend with moving the head part out of the abandoned store. He tells them to get dead too. Steve also employs the good old 'your mom' joke at the start and does a Hweh heh heh laugh too. People seem to like him, like me too, and are making him canon divergent with making him likable and not having the 'hits on teenage girls' rumor be real but just be a rumor from a creepy mouse teen girl.
Shipping Steve with Bea, the goth girl, is something that people slowly begin to like, though the ship of him with the dead cat...if he wasn't dead until the game's events, Casey, is more popular from what methinks over how folks are. But some enjoy shipping Steve with Bea. I call it Scaly Bags. It fits over both are asses in their own rights. I gotten wind of making Steve, while a douche and being a jerk to others, hates pedophiles and rapists that he won't mind coming to clobber them half dead. He did that to Bea's rapist in my one-shot story.

A goth gator as the main protagonist seems so unique.
But seeing what all the girl has gone through, it makes absolute sense that she'd convert into that.
I often attempt to avoid making canon things something that they're somewhat not, as well as all thing people tend to do that revolve around that. I, however, respect people's opinions on doing that type of stuff just to prove that they really aren't that bad of a character. It's just not my thing and I hope people respect that.
Damn he really is quite the arse, though many arses have their reasoning of being that way anyways.
That seems interesting. Reminds me of a serial killer I once read up. I think his nickname was the Iceman or something.
Although he was absolutely ruthless with his killings, he hated rapists and anyone who would hurt women and children. Plus if he was in a good mood he would literally become the best man in the neighbourhood.

Eh, Bea isn't the main character, but Mae is. Bea is just there for you to talk with like with Angus, a atheist bear who is still a really nice and gentle soul, and Gregg, a crazy wild boy of a fox...err, squirrel fox, that is dating Angus. Mae is a black cat who has...NIGHTMARE EYES!
Yeah, me and some others actually like canon divergent Steve more than canon Steve over canon Steve is just, like, in one small piece of the whole game and what we only know of him is that he is a slimy crook of a gator that smokes. He locked a teacher in the Longest Night period and he's so full of himself. He does wear a cool khaki jacket from what his sprite shows.
I think people would play NiTWs' minigames, like specifically Demon Tower that is like, to how folks say, Binding of Isaac.

Ahh alright! and OH DAMN NIGHTMARE EYES?? Spooky haha!
Yeah I can see stuff like that often. One game was this game based on fairy tales and it was detective-esque, and you could literally make the main character (which is a humanised version of the Big Bad Wolf) a complete butt. As I was watching someone play the game and they made those kind of choices, I had to let the dude do his own thing (because I watched it with my own will... I can't complain about a person not playing the game the way I wanna play it because it seems so unjustified), but it really did let me dislike the character more. There are some other characters I am reminded of with that trope but they've all pretty much flown off of my head.
Binding of Isaac itself reminds me of the original Zelda or Zelda, Link to the Past/Link between Worlds, because of that scrolling-esque manner.

Speaking of what you said there with the fairy tale one, NiTWs/Night in the Woods has you be able to go down three paths with hanging out with either the gator, the bear, or the fox, and you get to learn all about them more and more with each day you decide to go and join one of them. Your choices is what makes you lean more on whatever will happen to them I think. But like know there is this one guy who is so weird and random that at one point, since you can tag along with him too, asks if you trust him before he jumps off the bridge.
But like yeah, watch out for green birds in Demon Tower. Don't kill 'em, for they are harmless and killing them won't result in a cutesy poof like the enemies and would just see the guy dying with blood.

Damn. I love choiced story games that actually delve deep into character relations and such that you feel emotionally connected with whomever you're travelling with.
That's odd, and something I would most likely do.
Jesus. Just goes to show how much they demonise people who kill the innocent.

Never kill the innocent.
The bridge is high above ground. One can think he killed himself with suicide, though he wasn't. I would have suspect Mae to just...kick him in the nuts for doing that.
But like the cultists of the game are unknown though people theorize that aunt mall cop and Bea's dad are one of them over how they aren't seen, since one cutscene shown Bea all alone in her apartment with her dad not present. Same goes with the town council, people think they are the cultists though may be debunked over how the whole church issue about the homeless was likely taking place around that day and also how we can never find town hall. It could also fit with aunt mall cop and Bea's dad, though Eide may be aunt mall cop or someone else that may know Mae and no fan loves Bea's dad over he's a bad dad. That one sports fan, who is a croc, may not be a cultist over there was a dialogue about him moving and also he doesn't seem old, since Mae and the gang describes the cultist as a group of old people.

I likely would. Germ Warfare needs a nut kick. Even tho he is the most hilarious bird around who speaks weird and acts weird like how he brought dynamite, at the right time, when Mae and pals meet him at the mine's entrance. He also knows Rabies, a actual possum that he is friends with.
Those two guys from the tv show may be cultists or just foreshadowing the cultist reveal at the end. But the cultists are dead...maybe, they could still have survived the cave in at the mine over like they got ghost powers with being able to phase through walls. But what's the likelihood of that happening when the game never reveals on them being not dead.

Even when you got to redo the whole game to play again over don't think its possible to play further on after the end of the game happens. Since what happens after the cultist confrontation ends with everyone at the Party Barn wondering what will happen next only to then play one last song before the credits roll in.

Hope so, though with how NiTWs was supposedly done in 2014 and came out in 2017. A sequel may be brought out in several years or so, depending on if folks would wish a sequel and not wanna continue the story themselves with Steve dead, Casey being alive all along, aunt mall cop being a splinter cell member of the cult, Garbo and Malloy on location to expose they ain't cultists or puppets, Gregg and Angus moving to the new city with Mae tagging along, more dream levels, Levi and Beth being revealed at last and hopefully being a croc and owl respectively, and the janitor having a epic holy duel of rock n roll with the demon goat for the fate of the world.

No, just being a slick butt that wants to crash into high school parties for the fun out of it while not caring about creeping them out over he is a ass. That's why folks like him better being derailed and rewritten better from canon over how he is just the guy that nobody likes that doesn't have a lot on him.
Though his walk is something. His swagger walk though is kinda hilarious for a slimy guy like him.

Ay fair enough. I honestly couldn't care less about pricks unless they were written in such a way it drills into your head and drives you insane over how... well, prickly they are.
Well, I guess that suits his type honestly. He a show off, by chance?

Or rather much a slimy crook, since he does crimes...like Mae and Gregg, the squirrel fox friendo. There was a agreement done by Gregg and Steve over this small adventure where Gregg allows Steve to get away with swiping stuff from where he works in exchange to swipe a animatronic head at the abandoned store.
Ya know, read up and saw that Mae and Gregg are being hypocrites to Steve. They are not one bit happy that Scriggins does crimes...then they talk about smashing a window to get their find out of the abandoned store. They do crimes, but act like hypocrites about another doing it.
