The first thing I noticed is that the tree not being in the centre of the photo draws more attention to it.
I also like how it seperates between the sky and the groud. The ground is warmer in terms of colour, and the sky is colder. The only thing I find not so great is the contrast of the tree, it's a bit too dark.
Aside from that, I feel you've captured the feeling of being alone, as the path by the tree is empty and the tree sits alone.
