There's a major fnaf theory I MIGHT disagree with... or at least am confused with.

I might be stirring up trouble here...
Please just bear with me.

"Cassidy is the Vengeful Spirit in UCN."

This is a theory that seems to be taken as fact in the fnaf fandom.

To be honest, I've never understood this...

Can someone remind me why the fnaf fandom kinda excepts that The One You Should Not Have Killed/Vengeful Spirit is Cassidy?

Where did we get that from? I know that name comes from The Fourth Closet and is again seen in the Survival Logbook... I know that they're one of the Missing Children.

But in The Fourth Closet, Cassidy is described as a little GIRL with black hair.
In the Survival Logbook, we also see an image of the puppet giving a cake to a little girl with black hair, matching that description. Here's the image I'm talking about:

In the Logbook, we also get the name Cassidy from a crossword puzzle that also says IT'S ME twice. The same crossword puzzle also says, "WHAT IS YOUR NAME" and "WHO ARE YOU". Here is the image:

As we only in the past year or two or so discovered, there's three "writers" in this book...
Michael, who writes in red pen.
Spirit 1, who's writing is faded.
And now we know there is a Spirit 2, who alters text. And seems to be answering Spirit 1's questions.
Since Spirit 1 keeps asking if Spirit 2 remembers their name, and Spirit 2 writes here, "It's me. Cassidy. Who are you? What is your name?" it would seem they are one of the spirits in Golden Freddy, given the "It's Me" reference. Multiple times.

So I understand that.

What I don't understand is how that makes the Vengeful Spirit Cassidy?

Again, Cassidy is seen in the books as a little girl with black hair.
We see the name Cassidy in the Survival Logbook - which is canon with the games - along with a picture of a little girl with black hair receiving a giant cake from the puppet. Just like the MCI spirits did in the fnaf 3 mini games.
I'm pretty sure since the same name is seen in this book and the same physical description, this little girl is probably Cassidy.

As for the Vengeful Spirit...
"I have see HIM. The One You Should Not Have Killed."

This is a quote from UCN.

The image of the of the Vengeful Spirit is of a little boy. (In fact, Scott confirmed it's a picture of his own son he used.)

So why, when we have seen Cassidy is a girl...when we have seen Vengeful Spirit is not only a picture of a little boy but is specifically called "him"...why do we say it's Cassidy?

We already suspect - and it's all but confirmed - that Golden Freddy has two spirits.

If Cassidy is just one of the victims and - not to say it's any less tragic - storewise not anymore special of a character (at least so far) than Fritz or Jeremy or Susie or Gabriel...
Why would SHE be the one William shouldn't have killed? What would make her hold more of a grudge than the others?

Why couldn't it be the other spirit?

The one we suspect to be our little friend from fnaf 4 who had a personal relationship with the Man Behind the Slaughter...

... Why couldn't it be Crying Child?
William's SON.

Sadness could turn to anger...

Now granted, this idea might not hold up as well as I have no idea why it would be implying William was responsible for his death when it was Michael who accidentally caused his head to be crushed.
We know he dies later assuming in a hospital as we hear the heart monitor beeping and flatlining after he's told he'll be put back together by someone...
But as we can't actually see anything there, it's hard to know what's going on outside of his own consciousness... So any of that would just be imagining different scenarios that don't have evidence...at least not yet. And that doesn't always help trying to figure out the story...

So I have no idea why he would blame William for his death.
(Again, there COULD be more to it than we currently know...)

But the point is, whoever the Vengeful Spirit is, I've never understood why we think it's Cassidy.

And I'd just leave this alone, except...

In the Survival Logbook, Spirit 1 seems to be asking Spirit 2 (seemingly Cassidy) if she remembers things from fnaf 4...mostly the gameplay part of it. (Except for when it asks if the Fredbear plushie still talks to them...which makes this a tad bit more confusing.)
Which would make you think Spirit 2 is Crying Child...
Except... it's easy to miss amongst the chaos, but that same little girl with black hair in the Survival Logbook has been seen in the endoskeleton section of Security Breach.

And if this is Cassidy, and I'm assuming it is, then that would change a lot of what we thought for fnaf 4's gameplay.

And this isn't the only place she's seen in Security Breach...
You know Princess Quest? Where we can set Vanny free from being trapped behind the door from Help Wanted?

Well guess what the name of the Princess is in the files.

Cassidy.

All this to say...this isn't meant to be some solid theory or anything.
It's just something I've noticed and want to keep my eyes peeled for any more unfound clues or any new detail in the future...

All I'm saying is...we might need to look back and rethink some theories we accepted as truth.
