She's just writing things as she goes. That's not "write".

it seems to me that the writters of star vs the forces of evil are doing something similar but to a less extend.
in one episode of season one we learned that all monsters are evil, and now the show acts like they are not.
and what's up with tofee?it has been a while ever since we last saw him.

not really, that's how steven's powers work.
in marvel and dc comics the heroes and villains usually have the same powers forever, they don't pop a new power every time things get too hard.

We've obviously been reading different marvel and dc comics. It's not so obvious today since characters like Superman, Batman, Spiderman, or the ultimate McGuffin, Dr. Strange, have been around for so long that the long retinue of their increased powers and abilities have basically tapped out.
Superman is essentially god-modded.
People actually banter about how Batman can outdo anyone with an endless series of gadgets and plain outsmarting people.
Spiderman has an established spiderverse full of other spidermen/women to have new powers for him.
Dr. Strange has all the definitive power structure of the Abrahamic god, where he can do anything except when it's convenient to the narrative.
But because Steven Universe is here, now, unfolding before us, it's more obvious.
Read Lord of the Rings, and you'll see what I mean. Frodo, Sam, and anyone else who wears the Ring™ all have divergent powers, whilst characters like the elves and wizards are constantly pulling solutions right out of their arses.

I have to agree, he seemed way too OP in the last episode. However I feel yellow's powers were underdeveloped to begin with. Blue had more power development; a room full of gems could be brought to their knees, crying. And she could even throw her power out as a ball of energy. White's powers were just touched on; mind control, and bubbles that could phase through solid surfaces and transport beings inside them. Maybe Steven seemed over powered because the others weren't properly developed. However, the defensive properties of his power do make sense, as a balance to the other diamond's powers which rely on attacks/ offence.

from all pink diamonds powers the one tha makes the least sense is the one that controls plants.(we never saw that happening but pearl did mention it).
this power makes us much sense as if humans were capable of mind controlling certain gems

To be fair (Spoilers---) Steven IS technically a diamond. But while at the same time it makes sense, giving him too many powers on the spot like that kinda makes him a bit OP. I still enjoy SU tho don't get me wrong!

it would be a lot better if rebecca let ud know about his powers from the begin so they don't like a deus ex machina. also i don't understand why the other 2 diamonds don't posses the same powers as steven does.i didn't see them using bubbles shields or anything like that during their fight.yellow used electricity and that was all.
