It’s 2017! Here is my compilation of characters that I made/developed during 2016. It’s sort of a Draw This Again meme, but I wanted to be a little extra lol. To me, this is a big-ish project, for several reasons:

1. I consider myself to have an ok imagination, for creative fun as well as a sort of mental sanctuary. The worlds I made and the characters that populated them were a go-to whenever I was stressed from school/family life. Certain stories were definitely self-indulgent, so I never shared any of them with friends/family/online bc I was insecure about them ^_^;;. So it’s taking a bit of courage to share projects so dear to me, and all of the loaded memories that are inevitably connected to them, with the world.

2. I made this to show how my style, skill and character designs evolve through the year(s). I am trying to be more conscientious about my work. They are as much of a creative escape as they are a reflection of who I am, and I want to be sincere in my experiences. I do struggle with self-clarity; therefore I want to explore my identity through my work. I’m going to explore themes of LGBT and mental illness, and other topics I’ve really avoided/been vague about.
3. I have trouble finishing what I start. I get easily discouraged about the quality of my work. Even something as simple as fullbody character sheets is an accomplishment for me, so I am happy to share this! Thanks for looking!

Zeydrias & Nuarha | Unnamed Project | Fantasy | Active Story

This is one of my oldest private projects that I started when I was 11-12. Early major influences were Eragon, LOTR and the Darkover series. This is probably the largest headworld I have, and I am renovating it slowly to be more inclusive and original.

Zeydrias is a former child soldier/assassin for a corrupt monarch, but in leaving their homeland their worldviews are changed forever. Zeydrias rescues (& informally adopts) several children throughout the decades of war and adventure. They’re more of a supporting character in actuality; my stories were going to be told through the lives of these children, as they grew up and go on to become heroes of the land. They’re constantly brooding tbh. [They/Them Androgyne| Aro-Ace ]

Nuarha is one of the long lost Ancients, awoken from a centuries-long slumber. She has awakened to an unrecognizable era, her people vanquished by the lindyhir (first elves). Her arrival to the Ralymn is marked as that of a savior, but in reality she is there to seek revenge against a world that has forgotten her. Zeydrias, who has stayed in the edges of history, helping/influencing major figures, now is perhaps the only one that can stop the powerful Ancient. Will the antihero with dubious morals choose to side with the enemy? Will the villain remember her past identity as a warrior for peace? Cue sexual tension and cool fight scenes. [She/Her Cis| Pan-Poly ]

Crow & Wolf | Utau | “Dream Eaters” | Dormant Characters
I have very little backstory to these two, they were created on a whim as fan-Utau’s. I really liked their designs at the time, but was unfortunately rather thoughtless I think. I wanted to redesign/put more thought into them just to get it out of my system. I’m also starting to get attached to the idea of them being characters in my other story, “Dream Eaters.” To this point I am still trying to come up with better names for them so have some codenames!

Crow & Wolf are android/synthetic twins created to serve as pop idols in their world. Where Crow is the more outgoing one, Wolf is more introverted. However, both are pretty mischievous and wreak havoc on those close to them. Crow is protective over their twin but seeks to be recognized as their own individual and not as part of a duo. Wolf has a lot of pride but has trouble speaking up for themself. They start receiving coded messages and on a whim, embed the messages into their songs. This gets them into trouble of course when mysterious human factions start wars at their shows! [She/They & He/They | Agender]

Ainsel | Unnamed Project | Kingdom Hearts | Adventure | Active Story
I have a huge thing typed up about this character over in this journal , but a few developments! I decided to beef up her body type a bit (a huge influence is Korra). I have so much love for the KH franchise, one of the most memorable games of my tweenhood. This character has gone through many iterations being one of my oldest OC’s.
Ainsel is a 16 year old Keyblade Wielder that is lost. The night before taking the Mark of Mastery test her dear friend and teammate Utsuro is kidnapped; all that’s left is a mysterious portal. A group mission to find their kidnapped friend led to her whole team getting separated. Alone for the first time, she has to overcome obstacles and fight strange monsters (Heartless, Nobodies, etc. ). When the four friends finally reunite after years of missed chances, their friendship is tested by individual loyalties and personal truths. Growing up is painful in many ways [She/Her Cis | Bi ].

Seiren |”Dream Eaters” | Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk | Active Story
Maybe it’s a little dorky, but the initial idea for this story came from a dream I had in highschool. And I’m JUST A LITTLE salty about it, but when Poet Anderson came out, that’s the sort of original aesthetic I had lol. The plot is a mess but I have way too much fun coming up with ideas for this world. Originally spelled Saren but I recently found out that’s a Mass Effect character so yeh.

Seiren is a deliveryman for Somnus, a shop that sells sleeping remedies, in a city obsessed with lucid dreaming. Seiren realizes that she is losing the ability to actually sleep; this catches the attention of Vesper, a clandestine group of necromancers. Necromancers are telepathic people that can freely enter the dreaming world and influence it, but they no longer need to sleep. In this dream state people are susceptible to “dream/soul eating” monsters known as the Mahr. The necromancers fend off the Mahr but also fight for territory in this world against elementals, another faction of humans with telekinetic abilities. Seiren has to navigate through loyalties in the waking world as the factions wage underground wars, evade an authoritarian government that wants to capture and research on one of these non-sleepers, and the budding truth of what the dream world actually is. Kairi | Sly Cooper | Dormant Story

So I created this character for my friend’s Sly Cooper universe back in elementary school. She’s gone through a few iterations. Mainly a slight outfit change, and more buff .

Kairi is an arctic fox spy of Japanese descent. Her parents were part of Interpol and sometimes worked with Carmelita, but went missing. Kairi was adopted by a tiger named Jasmine who actually inducted her into an organization that trains children to become fighters and whatnot. She works for them by stealing relics that hold power. She was also a backup singer and dancer in a band called the Daredevils with Nylten 's character Sara Scawn . At 23 she decides to leave the organization after one final mission. Riese | Unnamed Project | Pokémon | Active Story

This was originally a Trainersona (I think that’s what they’re called?) but she developed into her own person.

Riese originally set out to become a Pokemon Master when she turned of age, but she became immensely distracted in her quest one day when she stumbled upon an empty grove. The town's resident Berry Master had retired to the seaside long ago, so she inevitably became the new one. Her prowess in growing high quality and bountiful yields of berries is a boon to small town's economy, and many stray Pokemon find it a sort of sanctuary. Her Umbreon Dusk was a runt that she found as a young child, and he guards the grove at night against thieves. Resident children starting out in their Trainer journeys make sure to visit her in a mock "Gym Leader" type battle, and she gives them plenty of berries to help set them up for their adventures.
