magnolia trees are beautiful, I'd love to get one. There's something so beautiful about them & they smell nice too! I love it especially when their blossom falls & graces the earth!
As for forsythia- I once fell in love with the song by veruca salt - forsythia, so I named my first female rat after it - she was albino & had a yellow tinge to her.

I like magnolia as well. Their bloom is worth waiting all year for! Unfortunately very prone to ice damage. They don't support weight well--so dangerous to climb!
Forsythia is a pretty name! Don't know the tune, though.
