ok yet another variation of the Dark Magician!XPThis one is called Oni and he was created by a group of scientist for the usual reasons i.e to take over the world, naturally things didn't go to plan and now he roams freely!XD
he's had teariable experiance with humans and as such he did have a poor view on them but that changed when he met his lover who he later learned that she had nurtured him when he was "born" and was sadly killed by the same scientist that she worked for, the very same lot that created him....
he can't stomach people who beat up their partners and despises the "collectors"

the collectors are an evil sort of people who "collect" rare duelmonsters mostly wild ones, wild simply meaning that they have no card to which they are assigned to.
the collectors will go to any lenght to get their prize includeing murder!

Alright i think you're long overdue for a reply!
First i must say that i love the lineart in this i think it's very well drawn and i really love it. I know how hard he is to draw so you really have my respect!
I do believe that you might have used too much red, or too much of the "same" shade of red. It's very dominant and it doesn't fit too well with the blue that you have used.
You have to be careful when your using two colors that are opposites of one another, like the red and blue you used. When i do something like this i usually try to make one of the colors more neutral, I mix in a light tone and maybe make it a little bit more grayish.
I'm not sure how well that would work here i must admit, but yeah, you probably get the idea.
The background you used is also very pretty but again, too much red 
When i look at the shadowing and the highlighting i must say you did a supreme job! I really love the highlighting on the armor, but you need to practice shadowing skin.
all in all i think it's a very nice picture and you need to be proud of your work!

ok short version i'm very greatful for your comment AND criticism, i've been told before about my lack of fear with colours and the dangers with that but i wanted that red and blue with his armor as i was largely inspired by this card:

in this picture above he won't have so many shadeing on him as there is alot of light in this scene (also as you can see i start with flat colours, which ones i use depends on their colour scheme)
i think i get what you mean about useing greys to turn down colours makeing them more neutral and i understand why folk are a bit nervious about useing clashing colours but at the same time you can be too careful too
i supose what i'm trying to say is this, wether a colour is more neutral or not depends not only on the light but what kind of paint it's ment to be (matt/ metalic etc) and also the material it's on such as metal or fabric and just what you want your charecter's impression to be like in Oni's case i wanted him to be dark and intimadateing ...ok yeah metal can have matt based paints on them too
