there are so many times I want to take pictures of the moon, but my camera sucks xD

yes,I like it....Understand the moon is at it's closest to the earth THIS MONTH, so go out and shoot a
full moon. I'd like to get a camera friendly telescope
but I shoot Konika/Minolta & Minolta mount
SONY's. i do use a Sigma SD-9 here at work.
Must telescope's with camera mounts are for either
Canon & Nikon's.

I absolutely Love a good waxing or waning crescent so many more shadows! But a full moon to my eye looks awesome just need to find something to accompany it with in a photo I think dunno never tried lol! Still new to photography.

I bought mine about 5 years ago or so and paid around $800. But they have the New 6" for the same price at Amazon (where I got mine). The 5 is cheaper but I would go for the 1' larger for $100 more

You will need some extra gear such as T-ring and T-adapter for your camera. So if you are looking for another expensive hobby Astronomy photograph is for you lol. I have just started getting back into doing this let me know if you need help I can at least point you to those that know in the Canon group.

Hmmm... Actually I was planning on using this:
Vixen GP2 Photo Guider (it's a mount that tracks with star movement)
500mm Telephoto Mirror Lens for Nikon D5000 D3000 D90
Depending on which lens I go with, this could be a very expensive venture. Looking at BH Photo, a 200-500mm lens is about 3,000-6,000USD.
But there are other cheaper lenses out there that are stictly 500mm F8 that might do what I need... If not I could always sell it on eBay

So then you are doing a piggy back mount for the tracking? I use the telescope as my prime lens at 1250mm. If you are wanting to do Astro photography this is your cheaper option.

So, the telescope thing is cool and all, but it's not very portable. I like to just pack my camera and equipment up and go for a hike or something like that... maybe find some mountain pass, or base of a mountain and then point my camera skyward... it's kinda hard to do that with a 45lb telescope... LOL
