Man, sometimes I forget what art I saw where. I forget that you did the world mermaid stuff....I am a tiny bit obsessed with mermaids, and mythology of various cultures. Also Alaskan stuff is close to my heart! This has been in my faves forever

Oh, according to the legend, her father chopped her fingers off using an oar. Ouch. Her fingers fell into the sea and created whales, seals, and Inuits.

Ahh, I just read your blog post and answered my own question. That is so cool, how many different stories there are about mermaids. There's a quote in the book Keeper: "Find a body of water...and you will likely find a merstory. Love it!
