haha yeah I know that feeling. One time I actually pressed ctrl+z while drawing on paper next to my keyboard. Had to stop for a moment and process what just happened. Crazy!

This is THE thing I've always been too lazy to attempt. I've done bits of it over the years, an arm, a torso, a leg, a skull, but never the whole thing.

What medical book or images do you study from? I've been trying to find a good book to study from but haven't come across one yet.

I studied from Loomis, Hogarth, Bammes and Acland's anatomy. The last one is kinda medicine related, it's a set of videos that demonstrate real human muscles and bones and explain everything about them.

Thanks for the info. I really need to practice my anatomy. I have so a hard time with it, especially from the waist down. I can never seem to get the leg position with the body correct because of how the ribcage and pelvis are arched. Trying to do them in the 3/4th angle really makes it hard to correctly put downt he legs.

Study your flaws, there's really no other way to learn these things, you need to practice. We all struggle with anatomy, but doing sketches and anatomy studies, helps a lot.

This is awesome! Inspires me to do something like this. It took a month you mentioned?

Vindrea In reply to munkai [2012-09-17 08:16:13 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!
Yup, a month. I'm not sure if it's a long or a short period of time for such sketches, I've seen people do loads of sketches in a week

munkai In reply to Vindrea [2012-09-17 08:18:08 +0000 UTC]
I guess this sort of output can be done in a week, but it still looks really neat all compiled together. You must've learned a lot from this!

Vindrea In reply to munkai [2012-09-17 08:24:59 +0000 UTC]
Well I still struggle when it comes to drawing full body from my memory. Sometimes I have no problems, sometimes it feels like I forget everything that I learned before. But I have to say this helped me a lot to understand the muscles, so when I use a reference, I can remember which muscle is where and how it looks like.
I should really do more sketches like that

You should. The secret is just to draw more, really.

Vindrea In reply to mrConceptual [2012-09-04 09:50:51 +0000 UTC]
a lot of books from Loomis, Bammes, Hogarth, bunch of anatomy images that I googled and Aclands Anatomy (though I used it only a little).

ahhh the refreshing creatorΒ΄s "hate" towards his own creations.... itΒ΄s still there.
IΒ΄m drawing since IΒ΄m in primary school, but IΒ΄ve reached my maximum skill pretty quickly... I havenΒ΄t bettered in YEARS! :-/ no matter how hard/long/often I try or how much I was paying for material and lessons. :I ItΒ΄s dragging me down.
so be grateful for your skill! this is no offense, just a little reminder that there are people that want to be good like you, but canΒ΄t reach your skill.

Vindrea In reply to Ansugaru [2012-09-04 05:13:23 +0000 UTC]
I didn't mention anywhere that I'm not grateful for my skills. I am, without them I wouldn't be who I am now and my future probably would be completely different.
All I'm saying - I could be better. And this thought pushes me to improve. You think it's a bad thought to think for an artist?

Awesome! And I agree with ~JAMsEye.
I feel the same sometimes, always not completely satisfied... But this fact push you to do more (:

Vindrea In reply to NaamahVonhell [2012-09-03 20:09:00 +0000 UTC]
Indeed, it does. I guess without that feeling, artists would be still stuck with basic childish drawings (:

Girls who are never satisfied of what they do are always those who do it right and even better than anybody else most of the time. Believe me.

I guess, now when I look at it
I wish I could do smoother and 'controlled' sketch lines, but I guess it comes with practice.

just keep practice.. you are great now and with more practice i can't imagine how great the results will be
