So here's part two which I decided to title “What Does Macintosh do?” whel it’s not really that it’s more like here's the reason why I picked this future that I did for him.

First off I needed to get away from the farm. As much as he loves and cares for his home I think Mac has (like most pple) built a self-induced cage around himself and his duties to the farm. The farm works great to keep him busy and feeling like he’s helping out with the family but it’s also the source of all his trauma so I needed him to get away. Not to far away though (poor boy would probably get a panic attack and did when Zecora offered him to move in) but enough to have a clear separation of work and home as well.

Second I wanted a mature partner that could handle and effectively talk to him without blabbing his ear off. Annnnnnd that’s when my gears started turning to…..dun dun duuun Zecora. I can’t tell you the exact reason or how I came up to this conclusion but having Big Macintosh and Zecora together.just.clicked.

Zecora lives in the everfree forest, which is close to apple acres. She is a mature spirit, self sufficient like mac but she’s pretty dominant and at ease in her day to day interactions.

Lastly I think once mac got over his unease over her “eccentricisms” he’d find out that he quite enjoys her company in day to day life.

Also another thought I’d heacannon is that Zecora is hardcore the type of mare to say fuck to gender rules and parade in a fancy suit. And she has long sensed that Big Mac was a severely repressed pony. (She remember the first time Big Mac come into her home to fix her roof that the first he commented on was her massive collection of her worldly jewelry.

Needless to say after some intense therapy, some crying and some making of amends the relationship turns out to be fruitful as they settle down and raise their two children.

P.s the two participate in some haaardcore role reversal playing.
