Description Homeworld Bloodstone:
Bloodstone are technical soldiers, adept at stealth missions and capable of fighting in close quarters better than Quartz. This Bloodstone was born on Homeworld and served loyally under Yellow Diamond for an estimated five centuries before her assignment to the tunnel systems below the crust of the Earth colony planet. It was a very peaceful assignment, though the Rubies who served under her were always ready to fight even the smallest worm the diggers uncovered. Her most prominent assignment was the deepest guard station, where she had to keep an eye out for any ancient horrors they may have disturbed during their digging. This planet has surprisingly few compared to her last job. It also had the added benefit of not being anywhere near Yellow Diamond's demanding presence.

Escape) Bloodstone was working alone at the tail end of her shift when the earth had rumbled all around her. From the depths of a nearby shaft a plume of smoke and steam had begun to rise and terror filled her. Should she run? A fire in the chamber below could cause a collapse... or could have been caused by one. A cry had echoed from above her and then the power cut out, locking her in the guard booth in utter darkness.

The horrors began that night as she had crouched weeping. Other Gems had been out there in the mine, both below her and above her. She could hear them crying out... and the cries changing. Had there been eldritch monsters hiding in the stone after all? The answer soon became clear. Something ran around the corner and stopped in front of the booth.

She knew the glowing beast had to have been a Ruby once. Their gem was right in the center of their forehead just like the one who used to bring her unusual organic samples, surrounded by monstrous ripples of flesh. The Ruby Beast looked like one of those samples of 'fungi' that still rested in a nearby jar. Bloodstone was terrified and climbed up a ladder that led to a roof hatch and attempted to push through it. It was no use and eventually she turned around, pressing her back into the window behind her. "Ruby, no!" She screamed. Blind, the creature screamed as it slammed into the side of the booth. Metal and glass shattered, crumpling around her. Bloodstone fell backwards as the window disintegrated.

The Gem leapt to her feet and bolted down the tunnel, towards the deeper shafts.

For many years, decades perhaps, Bloodstone fled the Beasts. There were hundreds of them. Had her shelter of the booth saved her from their corrupted state? At first she had been certain the Diamonds would not let the facility stay buried. They had to send a cleanup crew at least to make an incident report! That was before she had found the terminal entries. There were no more Diamonds on earth. The evacuation order had been issued such a short time before the blast that had destroyed their mines that there had been little chance for escape. Pink Diamond had been shattered! The reality of it was like a knife in her own heart. Everything about the hastily scrawled report was wrong, especially the fact that she had not found the Aquamarine who had made it among the beasts. Frosty little bitch. Probably escaped by leaving without alerting others to h

Then one long blackness many years long later Bloodstone had heard the sound of rhythmic banging. It had almost been like a dream at first. Most gems didn't rest and so didn't dream, but in the deep dark the warrior did. What else was there? Each day as it grew louder she told herself that either someone was coming or she was finally going mad and it was time to end her suffering.

Past) On the last day of her nearly century-long confinement Bloodstone was found by group of humans. They had been digging in the back of what they had thought was a natural cave. The Gem had been so afraid she hid and refused to emerge into the sunlight, only coming out when the sun had set. As twilight descended on the land she had turned to them and put her hand on their leader's shoulder. "Close it. There are dark Beasts beneath you that you can never hope to defeat. It was a mistake to dig here." She had not mentioned that the bag she carried at her waist was full of the shards of the ones she had defeated. The foolish human had laughed at first. It had not amused her.

With a cry she had summoned her sword. "Then leave this place, you who are foolish to dig into a land of monsters!" Eyes normally white glowed vibrantly red and her green skin seemed so pale in the ghostlight of the blade. "They will come to take your life from you should you ever disturb them again and I will not save you." The primitive creatures had fled in terror. Quickly Bloodstone looked around and spotted a supporting beam of wood. With one cut the blade sliced through it and above her the familiar trembles began.

Bloodstone ran. She ran with wild abandon through the forested hills, ran until her feet hit the sunrise-lit waters of the ocean. Still unused to the brilliance of this planet's star, she had found a small seaside cave to rest in.

That first meeting would prove to be very fateful. The laughing leader had not been cowed by her power, but rather enraged. Bloodstone was certain he had murdered his companions, because humans in the area began talking of a horrifying vampire they had unleashed from the earth. "The demon threatened to suck the life from all who come to dig in these mountains and then killed them! She tore them to pieces! Only Arturo escaped." The tales of vampires spread as the towns grew and soon her cave was no longer safe. Her fiery red hair, ghostlike powers and green skin were all key elements to the tale.

For thousands of years Bloodstone fled from place to place in Europe, constantly under the threat of the vampire legend. It held an enduring place among the humans, frightening them even more than the Beasts that roamed certain parts of the world. There were never any answers to the mystery of the corruption of her fellow gems, and nothing more than rumors of other Gems who had escaped what the humans called "The Day of Light".

The Gods came to Earth and battled for our souls. On the day a great god fell we all felt the tremor that passed over the Earth in brilliant pulses of light in shades of Blue, Yellow and White. By the colors we mark the day that the gods killed themselves. By the colors we mark the day that the Beasts were born.

Bloodstone was never more certain that the 'gods' were the Diamonds, and that they had killed their own kind with some kind of magical weapon. And the humans called HER a monster.

Present)
In the death of the age of superstition Bloodstone lives as a human would. She immigrated to the west a few centuries ago and has kept a fake identity that allows her a relatively peaceful life, though occasionally the Beasts find her. As a precaution the Gem lives in a rural town where the forest meets the sea rather than in a city.

Bloodstone is not experienced with fusing, as she knows no other Gems and Bloodstones are very rare on Homeworld, so I'm certain she'd be  delighted to experience something entirely new.
