I'm glad you like the idea. My art on dA has long been Fakemon-focused, so when I got into Gems I thought I'd try to combine the two. I actually have quite a few of these sketched but I have a huge group project for Court-of-Diamonds going on so I haven't been able to finish them.
DO IT. No reason not to! So many possibilities.
