Sadly the forum is still dead, last time anyone posted on it was back in May, I had hoped things mite have picked up since the years I left so I came back to have a look around, that's how I found a link in one of the rps that lead me here......though I doubt you would remember me, but I went under the username Groovy-Gerbil...gosh that had been a silly name back then >.< people gave me the nickname GG, but those were still good times.

Yeah....I reget I don't remember anyone by that name. XD;  I joined another RP site...but it's too big and intimidating...I only ever joined one RP there...and even that has petered off. :/

I guessed you wouldn't remember me, I've only been in 3-4 rps that you have also been a part of and my chars never really interacted with yours much, but that's okay ^_^

Hmmm...I know how that feels, I've tried a few times since I left the Sonic forum but haven't been able to find any good Rp sites, these days they have a truck load of rules now that make it a little hard for me to join.

I'm all for following the rules but......I tried to join one 3 years ago but an admin kept bothering me about my grammar on my char's profile, I would edit hoping I had made it better and they would tell me to do it again they did so four times, on this Rp site you had to post a char profile before you could join any of the rps and you also needed the approve of an admin too, in the end I gave up, I'm dyslexic but I still like to Rp and I don't have anyone to spell & Grammar check my posts for me..

I don't think Rps are popular as they use to, and with the new rules people are now adding it makes it harder to enjoy them too

I know, right? @ rules.  I try to follow the rules, but like you said, so many places have more rules now than they used to...I'm used to canon characters being NPCs (at least in Sonic RPs anyway)...when somebody actually uses one as their player character, it throws me off completely.  (And also, RPs that absolutely forbid characters that are related to canon characters.  That leaves my most developed character (Reni) out of the RP...but that's a whole other rant. XP )

And what do you do if you need to post a conversation with somebody's character...but you aren't allowed to post for that other character's response at all? (or at the very least, it's frowned on)  It will send the RP into one-liners and waiting...which eventually kills it completely.  And then there's the fact that different RPs have such different rules.  One of them might allow somebody to post conversation with another player's character's  response in their post...while another doesn't allow it at all.  I don't want to accidentally become a power-player because I do something the way I've always done it and it ends up being against the rules.

I also tried to join one of those RP sites where you need to post an in-depth character bio and get it approved before you can join...My bios are still sitting unfinished on my computer. XD  I keep telling myself that I need to finish it, but other distractions keep getting in the way.

Did you inform the person that is bothering you about grammar about your dyslexia?  Maybe they could help you or find someone else that could help you with it, instead of just hounding you to fix it.  I dunno.  Doesn't seem too bad to me, really.  I would have never guessed by reading your comments.   And everybody makes grammar mistakes sometimes.  (Ex.: I tend to double letters that shouldn't be doubled...especially the word 'during' I ALWAYS end up giving it an extra 'r' That kind of thing.) They shouldn't require absolute PERFECTION in RP posts.  As long as it's legible enough to get the idea across, I can forgive small errors in grammar (and usually mentally I know what they're trying to say) when reading.  Unless it's all in l33tsp3ak or something.  That's annoying. XD;

Yeah I would fine that weird using a canon character as a character when your Rping, though I guess its the same people who on MMO with full customization would rather be their favorite characters then to try and be original, I don't like it because, you can't truly be that character, you are not the original creator, and you limit yourself because you have to follow the actions of what the character your playing as would say, do and behave like. 

I don't mine so much for original characters being canon characters offspring unless its illogical for those two character to have had a child, unless the rp its set in would some how allow it, I have mixed feelings when the character is a clone of a canon character, though depending on how they do it I think in most cases I would be fine with it.

That is frustrating when that happens, though back in the sonic forum I tried to avoid doing that useless I feel like what I'm typing down is something that the other person char is 95% likely to say or it someone I'm friends with and I know they will be fine me doing that. 

I understand what your saying though I do know me and a friend of mine (then again we were the GM's for this joint rp we made together) that for us to keep the rp going we had to make big pushes for the players because they were making the rp come to a stop, I forgot how, and me and my friend didn't like doing it, but we did it to help the rp get going again, and it worked but we didn't like making a lot of stuff happen just to get people moving >.>          

Sigh an in-dept character bio? sure some people do have long in-depth character bio's and I have no problem with that unless its a big wall of text that's very intimidating, but not everyone dose, rps are great to help figure out your chars stories more and have them interact with other people chars its part of the fun.    

Yeah I did mention that I'm dyslexia and even had on the post with the reff that I'm a Dyslexia person, and thanks for the comment, it's taken me years to get to the level I'm at now, but back at the sonic forum no one hammered me about my grammar and maybe sometimes spelling errors not even the admins, I just found it frustrating and silly that the admin would bother me so much about my grammar, considering it was an RP that had just started up a couple of months ago before I found it, and you would think they would want as many members as they could get?

Recently I check out another rp site but they do things differently too, they want people to post character bio's in one forum and then join rps in another but, looking through the rps, people just hop in and don't give either a link to their char's bio, and barely give a character description and just have there char do stuff, one had it that they only wanted a limited amount of people to join, but they want the rpers to give a brief character bio that was basically 

Name:

Gender:

Age:

Species:     

no character background, looks, likes, dislikes or personality

Other than that they had some odd rules I din't quite understand, I decide I wan't going to join that one either, I'm beginning to get tempted to make my own RPG site, but I would rather do that once I've got my original story going first before making a forum for it.
