The house loomed forebodingly, its empty windows like hollow eyes staring out at the raging sea. The full moon, an eerie white disc in the stormy sky, cast an unsettling glow on the place.

Inside, dust motes danced in the faint moonlight filtering through the boarded-up windows. The air was thick with the smell of mildew and something else, something metallic and sharp. A single flickering candle sat precariously on a dusty table, casting grotesque shadows that danced on the walls.
Then, a sound. A faint scratching noise from the floor above. At the top, a single room awaited. Moonlight streamed through a hole in the roof, illuminating a worn rocking chair that swayed back and forth...empty.
