Something about your art has all the elements of an origin story: simple, yet skillfully telling the beginning of a story.
For dramatic irony, we know he has a great destiny ahead of him as "Fire Star", a legacy so great that it will carry on to his grand-kits.
And yet, all this kitten knows is that his name is "Rusty", and there's nothing special about the forest beyond the fence except that he wants to explore it.

...Extremely cute, though! Now I should read through the whole series again, imagining every cat looking like this... It would make the series twice as good! <3

Thanks I usually use colored pencils, I use a bunch of mixed brands (the ones I used for this one were Crayola and Staedtler)
