Description
Watercolour paintingAround this time in 2016, I made my first attempt at watercolour painting, and it's become a bit of a tradition with me that I paint the same motif again each year at this time. This year, I went for a simpler, "blockier" style, flatter and more cartoon/print-like. Unfortunately the paper I chose didn't perform well and I had to scrub out a lot of hard edges in the sky.

Very pretty, if you don't mind me asking how do you do the tree flowers, do you use masking fluid or just leave the paper blank?

Yes, I did that in this case. The previous year, I tried negative painting, but it came out too clunky. The first time I painted this motif, I used white gouache, but that was very obvious.
