I think the colouring matches the picture very well actually! I love your soft use of colours and how they're slightly desaturated too. Also the concept is so adorable/interesting, I can't quite tell what's going on but it sure is fun to look at haha!

I can't tell if this is an innocent image, or very not-so-innocent. Either way, very creative idea!
And for the colors, I would adjust the lighting and contrast. But you could be thinking of something different.

The coloring doesn't suck! The muted, blue-toned colors actually look pretty good, sets the whole "night time" feel, if you were going for. Yes, I know it's in a studio, but maybe there's lights on the ceiling? XD
