Unlike the relatively benign Great Race, the Elder Things were violent & hostile. The encounter between the revived specimens and the personel of the expedition in AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS was extremely violent- and the bodies were not fit for burial ! There was a pic of professor Lake AFTER the Elder Things finished mangling him.
