I like the tone this is in, and the way you timed it purposely so that the wave looks as though it's about to crash over him...
This shot actually brings back memories of me and my brother when we were with our 2 cousins and we were trying to hold onto the chain when the wave crashed over it
I also like how you made his board red so its stands out, interesting idea

Selective desaturation is a simple technique but can be very creative indeed. And this is one of the perfect examples. The timing is unbelievable as well: The splash of the wave creates a perfect background for the surfer. Definitely a fave!
