Description My dear followers... THIS is my most favorite piece of all of the pictures I took on my 3.5 weeks in Europe!

THIS is the Astronomical Clock in Praha (Prague, Czech Republic)! The ONLY astronomical clock in the world. And let me tell you, it's absolutely beautiful in person! Especially to see it work! But what I like best about this picture is it tells you the day that my husband and I were there... on our honeymoon.

It's there to protect my artwork. I do not want anyone to steal it. Therefore, the watermark. Sorry.

But Thanks for the Fav!

This is really good photo. I am from the Czech republic and myself tried to take pictures of clock, but it has never failed me put it this way

Thanks. I really loved the Czech Republic. It was so pretty. Too bad St. Charles' Bridge was under construction/restoration when we went. Maybe next time.

And my husband's family (on his dad's side) is from the CR. Our last name is MelΕ‘a (We spell it Melsha in the US though).

Yes, Czech rep. is so beautiful. But I am angry, because the reconstruction (Charles Bridge) is soo horrible.. :-/

And what of the city he come from? Or you do not know?

We're not sure. We've done research but it always stops right after they come to America. His Grandpa came to the US when he was a kid and never told any stories other than that he was from there. James' dad can speak Czech but he didn't teach it to James. We felt bad when we went there cause we didn't even know how to say "Thank You" in Czech. I always feel bad when I travel to another country and don't know any of the language. :\ Rosetta Stone doesn't even have a Czech version so we can't even practice. ><

Ok I tought, that your husband moved to USA and he can speak czech
But you can learn Czech language, because it is nice (yes, maybe little difficult ) language

VisuallySpeaking In reply to really-girl [2011-02-09 19:37:43 +0000 UTC]

It'd be nice to learn it but there's not many good learning tools for it. If we stayed longer than just a week we might have picked up more.

The layout of the clock is superb! There is more to it than meets the eye - this picture invites you to dive in and see the clock "face" to "face," to touch and see what it is made of. To see the beauty in person. The contrast of black and gold is striking. The clarity of this is astounding.

I can not critique this because there is nothing to critique. The subject, the angle, the clarity, the artistic merit...it is all perfect. Great work.
