Description Commission for WebWalker756   -- his fan-made design of Penelope post TiT!
I'm pro-Evil Penelope, so I am so digging this entire concept~

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

NAME: Penelope

SPECIES: Mouse

NATIONALITY: Dutch

LIKES: Mechanics, inventing, planes, remote-control technology development, weapons design, stacking the deck in her own favor.

DISLIKES: Stupidity, the arrogant rich, those who get in her way, losing, and the Cooper Gang.

UNIQUE FEATURES/SKILLS:
--------------------------------

- Expert in the design and operation of remote-control technology. Her talents are said to rival those of Bentley of the Cooper Gang, having built a wider variety of drones with more versatile applications.

- Talented pilot, both of conventional planes and more advanced, next-generation robotic vehicles.

- Gadgeteer par excellence, capable of devising and constructing a variety of high-tech devices of dubious legality. One of her specialities is robotics, in the form of RC drones and more advanced mechanoids

- Proficient in the operation of heavy weaponry - usually in the form of firepower in the vehicles and RC drones that she's designed herself.

- Expert mechanic, capable of repairing extensive damage to complex machinery. She is also good at upgrading existing devices, making them much more formidable than they were before.

- Slightly above-average hand-to-hand skills. While Penelope prefers to leave the heavy lifting to her RC drones, she has demonstrated enough skill as a boxer and swordswoman to hold her own against the likes of Sly Cooper or LeFwee, at least in the short term.

- Leadership. While recent months have seen Penelope acting as a freelance arms dealer for other criminals, her past history as the Black Baron suggests that she's capable of assembling and running her own criminal enterprise.

- Computer programming. While Penelope isn't as good a hacker or analyst as Bentley, she knows enough about programming to design complex subroutines for her RC drones to follow, along with state-of-the-art security systems.

APPEARANCE:
-----------------

Penelope is a nubile mouse with pale lavander fur and long blonde hair. In order to keep her bangs out of her eyes, she often binds them back with a red bandana that doubles as a grease rag. Her eyes are often hidden behind a pair of thick glasses - or, more recently, a pair of customized high-tech work goggles, lending her a bookish sort of air.

In the past, Penelope has favored a WWI-esque aviator's outfit (when posing as the Black Baron) or a pair of mechanics' overalls and a yellow work shirt as herself. When in the employ of Le Paradox, she adopted the same kind of yellow jumpsuit as his personal guards, perhaps as a show of loyalty to her new boss.

Following her recent escape from prison and establishment as a crime boss in her own right, Penelope has combined elements from her previous outfits to form an ensemble that straddles the line between classical aviator and mad scientist - apart from the aforementioned goggles, the mouse is often seen wearing a stylized set of black coveralls, secured by a tool belt whose buckle bears her own signature mouse logo. Her hands are often tucked into bulky lab gloves - all the better for her constant tinkering.

PERSONALITY:
-----------------

While posing as the Black Baron, Penelope adopted the posh, stuffy demeanor of an aristocratic ace pilot. Charismatic-yet-condescending, she controlled the ACES competition with an iron fist wrapped in a velvet glove - while she presented an affable front to those who took part in her dogfighting tournaments and discouraged cheating, she wasn't above giving herself an unfair advantage.

During her tenure as a member of the Cooper Gang, the tinkering mouse seemed to let her guard down, revealing a peppy and friendly side of her personality. She had a penchant for technobabble and obscure science references, and got along splendidly with fellow nerd/gearhead, Bentley. However, at some point after the "retirement" of their leader, Sly Cooper, her opinion of the Cooper Gang soured, and she turned her back on them in favor of the more active crime lord Le Paradox.

Following her arrest and escape, Penelope's true personality seems to have been revealed - for all of her geeky charm, she's ultimately guided by profit and ambition more than any set of morals, and won't hesitate to abandon her old partners if they don't measure up to her standards of criminal professionalism. She seems to be especially vindictive towards Bentley, as she feels that he's wasting his talents by aiding Sly Cooper; while she announced their breakup when they fought in Medieval England, she still seems driven to try and make him come around to her way of thinking.

For all of this, there is one other thing that seems to drive Penelope - a grudge against Sly Cooper, claiming that he cost her something precious. While most have assumed she was referring to her plans in Medieval England, the way her arrogance slips to reveal a hurt sort of anger suggests something more...

FIGHTING STYLE / WEAPONS:
------------------------------------

While she can throw a punch or handle a sword in a pinch, Penelope prefers to leave the heavy lifting to her personal command of RC drones and gadgeteering arsenal. The latter have included, but are not limited to:
- Fighter Plane Combat: Thanks to her passion for airplanes and previous championship in the ACES competition, Penelope is a talented pilot and dogfighter, capable of puttung a plane through paces that most others would consider reckless and/or suicidal. She's no slouch at shooting down enemy planes, especially when she's built a more advanced arsenal into her plane.
-R/C Drones: Penelope often keeps at least one of her remote-controlled "toys" nearby; whether it shows up in the form of her machine-gunning robo-car, the grapple-equipped helicopter, a fleet of RC "Black Baron" mini-planes, or even cycloptic orb-drones that float on hover-jets and shoot lasers, she's never without remote backup.
- Black Knight Mk. II: When backed up against the wall, Penelope has developed at least one personal suit of powered armor that she can climb into and operate from within. While it takes its basic design and color scheme from her Black Knight persona back in Medieval England, this new robot suit is much more modern in its aesthetics, and comes heavily armed with piston-drive fists, integrated pulse guns, hover-drones that can project a shield, or rocket thrusts built into its feet for charging attacks or heavy jumps.

BIO:
-----

Penelope has a checkered history - first in her alter-ego as the Black Baron, she oversaw the ACES dogfighting competition in Holland, a fighter plane enthusiasts' tournament that she ran with an iron fist. Later, she worked alongside the Cooper Gang to reclaim the long-lost heritage of the Cooper family line, devoting her skills as an RC specialist to ensure they could pull off the complex heist. She even entered a relationship with the team's strategist, Bentley, and they seemed to retire together afterwards to focus on next-genration tinkering.

However, during what would later be known as the Le Paradox Incident, Penelope turned against the Cooper Gang, defecting to Le Paradox's syndicate. Details of the incident were vague, but it is believed that she grew disillusioned with the Cooper Gang's inactivity following the Kaine Island heist, as she had only signed on with them because they had professed themselves as "the best." Evidently, she wasn't ready for retirement, nor to devote herself to protecting the legacy of a retired thief when she could write her own legend.

In the wake of her escape from interpol's prison, and a subsequent investigation that was launched by Carmelita Fox (before she was forced to step down from the matter due to an internal investigation into her own past conduct), Penelope's past history has been brought up in greater detail. According to recently-unearthed information, the tinkering mouse was once the only child of the Gearson family, who ran an industrial company that catered to multiple forms of machinery assembly. According to rumor, Penelope was under a lot of pressure to be the heir that her parents wanted, with no time for friends or even a personal life.

Shortly after her 16th birthday, however, the Gearson family was rocked by a number of scandals, and their company went bankrupt. A few weeks after losing everything, the Gearsons were found dead in their bedroom, apparent victims of a suicide. As for Penelope herself, she became a ward of the nation, until being "hired on" by the Black Baron two years later. Only in retrospect would it become clear that she invented the Black Baron persona around that time, using funds she'd stolen from her abusive family to build a new life for herself.

In the years following the Le Paradox Incident, Penelope has made a name for herself in the international criminal underworld as THE go-to gal for customized weapons, thieving gadgetry, black-market security, and even remote-controlled robotic weaponry. Despite her success, however, word on the grapevine suggests that Penelope might have aspirations beyond being a black market dealer. Already, there are rumors that she's assembling high-profile criminals to form a syndicate of her own, using their talents to amass the resources and wealth needed to bankroll a master project that will dwarf anything else she's built to date.

With all this in mind, the question still lingers in the minds of those who have followed Penelope's case: why did she turn against the Cooper Gang, despite the chemistry she shared with Bentley? Was she truly THAT disillusioned with being stuck guarding the legacy of a retired thief? Was the lure of time travel for profit that great? Was she that obsessed with being - or working for - "the best?"

Or was there some deeper, more personal reason that drove her to turn her back on her erstwhile friends...?
