Much like the Contessa, Suzuko's face would be considered almost human - even beautiful - by real life viewers, save for her golden skin, entirely pitch-black eyes, and lack of visible nose. However, a subtle seam that stretches from her black-painted lips to her chin hints at her insectoid nature; when sufficiently angered, her lower jaw splits open into a pair of insectoid mandibles. Suzuko's eyes are entirely pitch black, and her lips are likewise painted a dark hue. Her raven hair is usually done up in a traditional geisha style, hinting at her refined nature and position of authority in her clan, with slender kunai used in place of hair needles.

Unlike the Contessa, whose lower half suggested a drider or "spider-taur," Suzuko's body is more humanoid. Lithe and shapely, Suzoko's beautiful and sinister in equal measure; but her insectoid traits remain evident. Her firm, powerful legs end in insectoid “spurs” instead of feet and toes, her golden-yellow arms end in slender-yet sharp claws, her wasp wings extend from her back, and a yellow-and-black-striped “stinger portion” covers her posterior, almost akin to an oval-shaped tail that ends in a stinger.

When not in battle, Suzuko can be seen dressed in a voluminous golden-yellow kimono with black highlights.. However, if she needs to get her own hands dirty, she's quick to shed it in favor of a ninja dougi (uniform), with baggy black ninja pants, a snug black top, an ornate yellow gi vest with a wide obi-belt (reminiscent of Scorpion's, or Lady Deathstrike) that’s been modified to expose her wings, and sleek ninja gauntlets and boots to protect her shins and forearms. This ensemble is more ornate and stylized than that of her minions, as befitting of her authority.

PERSONALITY:

Mysterious and aloof, this female ninja master is as reclusive as the rest of her clan, preferring the rural mountaintops to the noisy clamor of big cities. On those few occasions when she actually speaks, Suzuko tends to be calm, brusque, and straight to the point. Ever the consummate professional, she executes her client's requests regardless of the odds or opposition, whether acting as a bodyguard or an assassin.

At times, however, Suzuko speaks with greater eloquence, revealing a certain interest in being more than a hired gun. Her missions are a means to and end - the restoration and survival of her clan, and the preservation of ninjutsu in general. She holds herself to the same standards as her underlings, not ordering them to do anything she wouldn't do herself.

Outside her clan, Suzuko is ambivalent to most, reflecting how a ninja’s allegiances can change as fortunes do. Despite this, she shows a certain fascination with those who earn her respect (a rare feat), client and foe alike; her peculiar code of honor can be invoked on such occasions to sway her judgment in acting.

However, paying insult to Suzuko - let alone making her a personal enemy - is a dangerous prospect. While she recognizes that her enemies will naturally defend themselves, she becomes enraged when they go out of their way to disrespect her or her clan. Slow to forgive such insult, Suzoko often demands repentance through torture; on such occasions, her venomous stinger is usually all she needs.

- Katana/kusarigama hybrid: Suzuko's main weapon combines two fundamentally different weapons - the katana and the kusari-gama, the latter a mixture of hand held scythe and chain flail - into a single instrument of death. Boasting a yellow-and-black wrapping around the grip, the katana's pommel ends in a long chain tipped by a small-yet-sturdy weight. This allows Suzuko to perform deadly cutting blows or strike from a distance with the whipping chain flail. The scabbard reflects Suzuko's wasp motif, laquered yellow with black details.

- Kunai Shuriken: No self-respecting ninja would be complete without throwing weapons. While these are technically called shuriken, the design favored by Suzuko and her clan take after kunai, which resemble daggers more than throwing stars. Suzuko is a deadly with these shuriken, with her range easily on par with modern pistols.

- Stinger Venom: As the original Deathsting clan were all killer wasps, one of their more infamous techniques revolved around their stingers...or, perhaps more accurately, their natural venom. While their stings alone were capable of inflicting agony in a victim, Suzuko's foremothers discovered an herbal concoction that, when ingested, provided a hallucinogenic effect to their stingers' poison. The results tend to not only be painful, but unsettling - survivors have described visual hallucinations that range from generic nightmares to personal demons made manifest.

This includes such supposedly-mythical techniques as creating illusion-based clones, spewing poisonous mist, or trapping someone by pinning their shadow to the floor with spell-tagged shurikens.

Suzuko Deathsting grew up with a keen appreciation for her family's history, and an obligation to preserve their traditions. But where most people would be carrying on such benign jobs as art or medicine, or preserve things like old cooking recipes, Suzuko inherited a far deadlier legacy...that of the ninja.

Since the times of feudal Japan, the Deathsting clan were an elusive and menacing presence that lurked the shadows. Their venomous sting struck terror into the hearts of their foes, helping to shape the flow of history. When the daimyos and lords of old wanted grim work done, they often sought out the Deathsting ninjas.

However, the modern world was much less accommodating. By Suzoko's time, her clan was all but a memory, with only her grandmother sharing the ancient ways with her. Refusing to let the old ways die out, Suzoko trained herself into a modern-day ninja master to carry them on...and when the Japanese government turned her down, she turned to the criminal underworld. But while she found success as a bodyguard and assassin, true resurrection of the Deathsting clan seemed out of reach.

That all changed when Penelope came into the picture. Thanks to the criminal tinkerer's resources, Suzuko's made strides towards the proper restoration of the Deathsting clan. With her dream finally in reach, she'll slaughter anyone who tries to interfere with the resurrection of her way of life.
