Rosy as the dawn, she glides through the halls silent as a cloud.has created a poem for this piece and graciously allowed me to add it here.
THE BEAUTY
She glides silently on clouds
Her delicate feet never meeting the floor
Only whispers, no one speaks loud
Only stares from hungry eyes pour
Her long hair so beautiful and black
Her beautiful gown a perfect match
She looks only forward, never she looks back
Her admirers all hunched over and huddeled in a batch
Every man desires her
But they can only nod
For man she is too beautiful
She belongs only to the Gods
Aurora: whom I lurve
Palace: whom I also lurve
Texture: whom I want to have my babies.

Ahh, I've been meaning to comment on this forever.
The way you've used the smokey texture on that dress is probably my favorite use of texture by you. It's like fog, or steam, rising as the sun burns off the morning dew. It's perfect for the subject manner, rather than just looking pretty (which it does anyway, of course). I love the color scheme in this piece, too; it's not too saturated, and almost neutral in places, but still retains that feeling of daybreak. It's like she's just turned into the hallway, and the light is following behind her.
The way her hair moves gives me the impression of suspended time. It looks unnatural, but somehow I think it works with this manip. I feel like she should have a shadow somewhere, though, perhaps on the floor closest to the viewer-- but the light source is odd and clearly I am not to be trusted with lighting advice.
I just love the way you've treated the subject, and the edits you did to the original photo of the girl are subtle and very well-done. This is great.

Thank you, JL! I appreciate the in-depth assessment. I agree that the hair is unnatural. I debated on how "flowy" to make the hair, but I think that with the "movement" of the skirt, it sort of works. I definitely wanted the dress to seem alive, so perhaps it's creating a breeze. LOL

im very impressed except I think the hair would have looked more natural/appealing if you had left off the section on the upper left which is sorta seperated from all the rest of the hair and if you had used something different for the little tendril hanging over her shoulder. and i also think that the eyes may need to have some oomph added somehow but dunno how. but i still love it i could never do that.
