Description I did this for my final in 3D class. I wanted to keep the modeling simple so I could focus more on advanced lighting and materials.
Created with 3D Studio Max 8 using final gather and mental ray.

Okay, I cleaned up this image substantially by increasing the sample rate x64 instead of x1. I'm finally happy with it.

LOL! Thanks alot. Its my best piece yet, and I think it'll be my last good 3D piece because I found a new passion in glassblowing

Not bad at all. Good job. I especially like the reflection on the ball.

Nice! I think you should have increased AntiAlising. There are several jagged edges

Ahh yes, you are totally right. I noticed that after it was rendered and wasn't sure if it was because of the jpeg or what.. I'm going to rerender it as soon as I figure out how to do the anti-aliasing. Thanks

Most software have a AA setting in render settings.

Okay, revised it.. what do you think?

qinjuehang In reply to Vladzilla [2006-12-16 12:06:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah better. Actually AA affects the smoothness of motion blur. However a bit excessive, usually x16 is enough, no diff after that and longer render
