This is Raven, my beloved OC.
I've been wanting to challenge myself for quite some time, and I finally did it. Here's my first go at lineless artwork/painting. It was friggen hard! And extremely time-consuming. I don't know how you people do it. HOW do you people do it?!
I also deliberately chose rather dramatic lighting this time round, cos I normally find it rather tricky.
I don't think I've ever worked this hard on a picture before; I was pushed to my very limits with this. And as tough as it was, I loved working on it. I've learnt so much from this piece, as well. I'm pretty happy with it.

The way you have captured light and movement in this piece is truly breathtaking. A beautiful colour palette where the background is very close the the middle colour range of the hair makes both the highlights and shadows of the locks really stand out against the background. The care taken with every individual hair strand is fantastic, as not only do they look beautifully clean, but also positioned with great artistic distribution. The style is a really unique compromise between realism and cartoon, with famliliar comic bangs working perfectly with strands too. The piercing colour of the eyes really stand out when you look at the piece, despite her looking away. A very minor suggestion would be that the detail in her fringe be increased, with slightly more shadow apparent, as compared to the rest of the piece it looks somewhat underdressed, but this does not really detract from the striking effect of this image.

It's beautiful to see the growth of your skill. The first time I saw this, I think it just like the other talented digital painter, but after I see the comment and comparing to your old works.I see the Passion is growing. About the picture.. the light is great, I think You really know them well, except for the eyes. The eyes is like reaching out frome the dark, it has to be in shady area, but i think You intend to do that so the eyes won't hide. The details and how You do her hairstyling is nice, You're not only making hair. I think the neck is quite strange, I don't know the words, but.. You know the area that makes 'V' between the twin bones (I don't know what it called, hehe), it makes her a bit chubby, but she's a DAMN HOT GIRL, anyway. It always amaze me how a girl could make such a beaut character. Over all this work is AMAZING, the thumbnail size said so. I can't do something like this, You know.. am still confusing with the lighting, I never had my lines clean without pen tools, and something similar like that. once again, AMAZING!

I love the way there's a shadow of the strand in her eye, and there's so much emotion conveyed through her eyes. The detail to the hair and piercings are amazing. Also, I really like how you've managed to use blue in both the background and the foreground and created a brilliant work out of it. Absolutely brilliant!Β Β
