Description
One of many designs in the "contest" that would eventually lead to Định Quốc-class, Cổ Loa-class battleship is a "deviation" made from a rejected plan to become training vessels for the United Empire. The class is named after the old citadel of Cổ Loa, said to be one of many capitals of Hồng Bàng Confederacy, and all ships of this class are named after old cities and archaeological sites as well. Though they're meant to be used as training vessels for officer cadets and enlist aeronauts, these behemoths are fully combat-capable and can be used as a substitute for Định Quốc-class. However, due to their high rarity, with only 7 ships in commission of the United Empire as mobile academies comparing to hundreds of Định Quốc, it would be hard to do anything meaningful.

Cổ Loa-class is exported to Empire of Alfer as Kaiser-class Juggernaugt-type battleships. After the devastating Great Gaian War, Alfer had to focus on rebuilding their ruined economy first, especially the destroyed Rhein region which was a major industrial and residential center. A new arms race was the last thing they needed, but as other superpowers started theirs, Alfer could not sit still. As such, the government purchased many Cổ Loa-class battleships from the United Empire under the pretext of "training ships for cadets" but secretly registered them as Kaiser-class capital vessels instead. They will be used as nnuclei for Alfer's rebuilding Kaiserliche Luftflotte.

- 850 mm at front and top of main turrets.
- 650 mm at sides and back of main turrets.
- 1000 mm at naval ram, main gun barbettes and magazines.

- 100 mm at point defense turrets.
- 700 mm at conning towers.
- 1500 mm at reactor and engine compartments.
- Material: Ultradense pure Stalinium.

Shields: 7 layers of independent shields.

Brings along:
- Around 10 recon vimanas.
- Unknown number of lifeboats.

Except for the overly long stern, which was designed to be a makeshift runway for vimana and to bee easily reconfigured into a proper flight deck on Định Quốc Type B "battle-tenders", Cổ Loa-class in the United Empire gas a nearly identical layout and electronics to Định Quốc-class, including gun fire control computers with radars connected to them, the electric-analog hybrid "automatic" system to control most machineries on board from reactors to anti-air turrets, and the armored plotting room underneath the main bridge tower. Likee with other Imperial warships, its windows are made from polarized, reinforced transparent aluminum to protect crew from bright flashes from nuclear warheads they're intended to fight against. Due to its smaller size, Cổ Loa-class only carries 7 shield generators corresponding to 7 layers of shields, each can take up to 1 megaton from shaped-charge warheads going off simultaneously against it.

When they're sold to Empire of Alfer, the UE put some limitations on the machineries to keep somee state secrets... state secrets. There're also parts using Alferian machines as they demanded so, wanting familiar hardware to interact with. Thus, engineers and designers had to compromise this and that, leading to a slight drop in performance, but overall won't affect much.

Per tradition, Imperial ships and airships have a pair of eyes painted on the bow, originated from a belief that doing so, ships can "see" and avoid dangerous zones. Kaiser-class doesn't have that, instead the bow is decorated with a golden eagle figurehead.

Based onn the wings, it's safe to assume Cổ Loa/Kaiser-class was designed by Giao Long herself. It also explains why Alfer can buy them so easily: Giao and Kaiser Friedrich III are very close friends to the point they're like brother and sister. With her influences, she can pull strings to get things through much easier.
