Description Oil on 18''x24'' canvas
Another painting I developed based off a picture taken during my family's hiking trip in Montana's Bob-Marshall Wilderness a couple years ago. Hope you all enjoy!

I am now open for commissions! More information available in this journal: Opening For CommissionsHi, everyone! I am in some financial difficulty, so I am opening commissions. Please read everything in this journal and send notes with any questions.
Please describe to me what you want with as much detail as you possibly can. Make sure you read through this journal and understand all the rules, pricing and payment. If anything is unclear, feel free to send me a note.

Please expect to wait up to a month for me to finish your commission. Hello, commenting on behalf of ProjectComment !

Well I'm leaving my confort zone by commenting here, so I'll give basically my impressions, ok? First thing that pop to my eyes was the texture, "rude" and harsh it makes a great contrast to the fluid looking of the water.

Second was the perception of space where I had to "look again" to understand the view angle, where the rapids seem being viewed from a higher angle then the foreground trees... I think some very visible branches between "7 to 9 o'clock" angle might help on the "high view" perspective. Or for an inverted effect (not so high view angle), drawing the bushes and rocks bigger on the bottom and smaller at the top (enforcing a parallax effect) also might help.

A third thing, that make me aprettiate your painting, is the colors. The mix of saturated and unsaturated areas, the yellowish tones on some areas and the light on the center dark on border... they make me feel the scene.

I believe its a nice painting, and I like it, but it require time to really enjoy the scene... I dont know if it's the idea of the painting  but if it was, good work! If it wasn't... well, luck can be called sudden inspiration.

Hey, I'm from !

I really love this piece, it's a beautiful painting. The water really flows, and the way you added the white frothy strokes makes it seem even more real and gives it a nice feeling. The rocks have the perfect amount of shading and color, I really think they are wet! And the trees give the whole thing a bit more color and brightness, I like how you made them fit in to the painting, like revealing the secret of the spring. The way that you look down on the scene also helps add the magical feeling. Even though there aren't animals, the whole view feels alive. I love it.

Your art is really amazing, and I think this piece is one of my favorites!

I think you did a great job on this piece- at first glance, I thought it was a photograph, before I clicked on it and saw the style and painterly effect you put into it. This is very unique from other painting's I've seen, and I am especially impressed by the water. You did a great job making it look natural and painterly at the same time! My only critique is that some of the bush on the right seems kind of flat compared to the other things, a bit under-shaded. However you may have been doing that on purpose. Anyway, I really enjoyed this piece as a whole!

Wow, nice work. I don't have a lot of experience with oils, but I like the detail you can see in the trees and water. Just cause I'm curious, did you paint the dark colors in the water first, or the light ones? Background/foreground and color shading/highlight is different depending on medium. I have learned that the hard way a few times, lol. So yeah, I'm just curious.

Thanks a lot
I painted the dark colors first, let them dry then applied the light colors. Usually what I do is apply a base color then work in shades/dark colors then apply highlights after that has dried.

I had to look at this from far away, but then i finally got the picture. It looks like melted crayons. It's melted crayons isn't it? Anyway, this is such a beautiful piece! I absolutely love it. Great work!

Oil paint actually. This was made using palette knives except for a few places where I used brushes for the water.
Thank you so much!

I found you through Project Comment, and I'm glad I did.

This is a realistic, calming picture that calls to mind a quiet walk through nature with only a camera to enjoy everything around you.  The greens are so vivid, and the water actually looks to be flowing.

I like this peice of art very much! One suggestion I would make is to add a little bit of bulge and shine to the water, maybe even a but more colour. Great job. Keep up the good work!
