Description
f i n ally floaty cats are updatedAdditional notes:
*They all are born with the ability to levitate a few inches off the ground.
*Their tendrils are hard to damage, but if they are it can cause serious neurological damage and/or death if not taken care of. Those who survive heavy physical trauma to the tendrils often have some form of nerve or sensory process damage.
*Newborns are born without tendrils, and will grow them in within two years. Infants' tendrils have an extra, rock-hard layer over them that makes them on the stiff side but extra hard to damage. This layer wears off through childhood and enables them to levitate once it is gone.
*Frills can be plucked off, since they regrow rapidly. The properties of severed frills warps drastically, and they have been found to develop minor healing properties upon being pulled off. Among Delphytes, using frills as bandaids for a quick fix to a minor wound is relatively common. The frills dissolve when left on the wound. This freaks out non-Delphytes.
*Like Fellians, they can also make feral-like sounds: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1V0H9p…
*They are very hardy and naturally fast healers.
*Delphytes will discolor and turn gray-ish when becoming old.
*Their frills can give off a glowing, pulsing, or flickering light as a result of emotions. It is said you can always tell when a Delphyte is lying because their frills will flicker, but this is mostly rumor and only seems to be true for those that are naturally nervous or anxious.
