I love this photograph. The detail is perfect and the way the eye is drawn up the stairs is great too. I think the colouring in the photo also gives it a warmth which really adds a personal edge and brings out the character of the place. Amazing.

awesome toning. perfect exposure. i like the line of the stairs draws you eye into the photo. the loming clouds over the building is a nice touch.
its as though you've captured these two people without them even knowing. i like that about this photo. so personal yet non-personal at the same time.

there's sometinh really strange about the photo, you masked the clouds when reveilling?
other than that, 5 stars

Thank you for the
I'm aware of the strangeness in the sky. It's striped transition between colors (the original was colored). I have used a polarizer effect from Nik Color Efex suit but it makes such stripes instead of a soft transition between colors. It wasn't very visible on this resized version and I didn't bothered to return to the original to correct it.
You have a very sharp eye, mister!
BTW, my PS skills suck.

This is very beautiful... wow.
Love the atmosphere and how everything and everybody seems to be in their perfect places.
the brown-ish tone is a nice choice. Adds up to the feeling of oldness.
Where is it exactly? Cuz I noticed you speak another language
~Congrats for the Daily Deviation

Hi, thanks for the nice comment. This is Balat, one of the oldest districs of Istanbul where mostly Greeks, Jews and Armenians used to live. Now there are fewer minorities in the area but it still is a multucultural, cosmopolitan district with Greek schools, churches, synagogues and 500 yrs old mosques. The structures and the layout of the streets are reminiscents of those cultures. Although it's now mostly a very poor district with old and neglected buildings, the streets are full of happily playing children and warmhearted local people always welcome visitors and photographers. I even heard that some foreign students from photography schools are visiting the place, become guests of the local people to become acquainted with them before taking photographs of the life around.

Wonderful photo. Sepia toning and the contrast make this incredibly... deep, well defined.
I miss Turkey.
A for sure.
