Description
There is being a time since you first hear about my BJD anthro rabbit, so, this is some new pictures of it!The first picture is a comparison with a doll made by [link]
Just to see the differences between the styles and that the size is a bit similar.
The rabbit passes through great changes. The waist and the legs were completely remade. Is in my pland also remake the ears, chest and arms.
You may ask: but... then in the end you will have two of these dolls since you are remaking everthing...And I may answer: yes! Just the head I wont romake.. This is a sad thing, but I am a perfectionist and everything must be perfect, no matter if I had to make the doll twice. So far I am very happy with the results

I was wondering!
What do you do for the head and feet and arms, you know to connect the string to.
Cause ive been stumped when trying to make dolls, i cant find anywhere that shows me what to do with them, to connect the string to. They dont show in the Tutorials and im always confused.

The way I string my dolls it kind of a little secret of mine.
This part you are talking about took me ages to figure out XD
Try to search for videos on youtube "restringing ball jointed dolls" it can bring light to your thoughts.

What are they cast in? ( do you cast yourself?)
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
vonBorowsky In reply to AtomicZombiePhD [2014-03-27 02:38:23 +0000 UTC]
Left one is made by a belgium artist, cast by him in polyurethane resin. And the right one is not cast, is made out of cold porcelain

Wow I love how it looks! ( the cold porcelain). Did you find it hard to work with?

It has a nice appearance indeed
Well, I think it is hard to work with, and takes a long time to handle correctly with this material. But is the only one I know how to use XD

I'm used to using either ladoll or fimo air dry. But I think I may have to give the cold a go or two- it just looks so nice

In this case maybe will not be so difficult to you, since are all air dry clays.
Good luck

Hmm I am not sure if I will make another fennec. I already made two.
I am not considering trades because I need money for future projects.
Just to have one idea, the last doll I sold was in february!
Since there I couldn't finish any other..
But the fennec will be up for sale for less than the base price for a standard doll, in case you are interested

Hey vonBorowsky, i know you dont intend to make a tutorial on bjd making, but do you mind helping me out a bit? I make dolls too, but recently trying out cold porcelain.
Do you make your joints separately and then join it to the limb,, or just sculpt them together? And how do you sculpt the channels so cleanly? Do you drill the channels through a piece after it dries, or build the limbs over somthing?
And may I know about some characteristics of your cold porcelain? Can it be carved and sanded ? Is it firm or rather soft? Any idea to stiffen it a bit without drying it out?
Ive tried to make a bjd with my homemade cp, but there were some issues with blending parts together smoothly ...wondering if its my problem or the problem of the material, hahaha.

vonBorowsky In reply to TherieKardie [2013-03-28 12:34:36 +0000 UTC]
You will have to figure out by yourself. All the techniques I use to make BJDs out of cold porcelain were develped by me after many many attempts and many many hours of hard work. That is why I don't share this information.
It can be sanded buts ins't too easy. It is a bit soft.
It is probably a problem with you.

TherieKardie In reply to vonBorowsky [2013-03-29 17:34:54 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I figured so. Yup, the amount of love and effort you give your dolls are evident!
Going for more adventures poking around the cp and recipe, how exciting~
Thankyou for your help!

I like your style! Her tiny waist is very cute and stylized. It allllmost reminds me of Chicken Run, but more Manga than that. lol I don't know. It's unique and adorable and if I had an anthro OC I'd be simply dying for you to make one for me.
